The TVS Sport is a commuter motorcycle built with affordability and low fuel consumption in mind. The TVS Sport is available in two main variants – kick start and self start and there are five colour options on offer including black/red, red, white/purple, white/red and grey. Standard features of the bike include a two-pod instrument cluster and LED DRLs accompanying the conventional bulb-type headlamp.

Introduction

The TVS Sport is an affordable commuter bike with high fuel economy in mind. It is popular among riders in India for its refined quality and good mileage delivery. It comes in seven colours and 2 variants. The kick-start alloy variant is cheaper than the electric-start alloy variant. TVS Motors also rolls out a special edition with SBT or Synchronised Braking Technology for the festive season. This bike was first launched back in 2007 and has been modified over the years. The new edition gets minor tweaks and a more refined engine. Initially, the Sports carried a 100cc engine and now it is back with a 110cc motor while transitioning to BS6.

How is the design?

The new TVS Sport is an active looking bike at an average price range. It sports a beautifully sporty appearance with plenty of specifications and functionalities. At the front, the TVS Sport is cladded in a fairing that perfectly houses the instrument console and the protruding headlamp. The fuel tank flaunts the nicest curves and edges leading to the classy tail section. The dual colour shading on the fuel tank with some added body graphics contribute to the sporty nature of the bike. The sturdy structure of the bike endures rigorous traffic with ease. The alloy-wheeled variant of the Sport flaunts tail-area panels and a bikini fairing at the front. The simple speedometer facing the rider displays only the critical information. The dual-coloured mudguard in the TVS Sport adds to the sportiness of the bike.

How is the performance?

The TVS Sport is now propelled by a single-cylinder, air-cooled, 109.7cc engine that dishes out a 7.30 bhp of power at 7350 rpm and a 8.7 Nm of peak torque at 4500 rpm. This bike delivers an effective on road performance and is pretty good for picking speed in city traffic. Even if one has to ride on uneven terrains and on undone village roads, this bike could be an ideal choice. This is because of the good feedback from the suspension which is telescopic at the front and an adjustable shock absorber at the rear. The bike lives up to the reputation of TVS’ good fuel economy for its low-capacity bikes. It can achieve a top speed of 90 kmph and it delivers an impressive performance at higher speeds as well. The 175mm of ground clearance also contributes to the overall performance of the bike.

How does the TVS Sport ride?

The fuel economy is the most positive element in the TVS Sport. This bike smoothly runs on highways and dusty roads. It can easily be ridden for as much as 70 km to 80 km on a daily basis and it will not cause trouble. The rider will not get bored riding this bike for long hours. This bike offers that ease and seamlessness and makes the on-road experience thrilling and superior. The ecometre features of the bike is something to look out for in the TVS Sport. The motor is frugal yet revamped and refined and offers ample reliability on long hauls. This commuter is a straightforward machine that can be utilised as a dependable workhorse for your regular use. There is still room for improvement, but the new engine promises 15% better fuel economy since the engine capacity has also gone up from 100cc to 110cc.

How comfortable is the TVS Sport?

The new TVS Sport has good feedback from the suspension which means it can be ridden on any kind of terrain. The black alloy wheels provide good stability to the bike and keeps it well-planted on the ground. It moves along the intended line quite efficiently without getting deflected too often. The riding posture is non aggressive without the rider having to reach out for the handlebars with too much effort. The pillion is slightly raised and narrowed at the end.
