Introduction

The Honda Amaze has recently nailed the latest Bharat NCAP crash tests, scoring a solid five-star rating for Adult Occupant Protection (28.33/32) and a four-star rating for Child Occupant Protection (40.81/49). This impressive safety feat applies to all V, VX, and ZX variants, whether one goes for the manual or CVT.

Adult Occupant Protection

In adult protection, the Amaze aced both the major crash tests. It scored 14.33/16 in the frontal offset deformable barrier test and 14/16 in the side movable deformable barrier test. Notably, the structure held up well, and all the tested variants weighed 1,241kg and are all made in India.

Child Occupant Protection

The Amaze also excelled in child occupant protection, scoring 40.81 points overall. This is all thanks to strong dynamic test results (23.81/24) and a perfect 12/12 for Child Restraint System (CRS) installation.

Key Safety Features

Honda has equipped all variants with essential safety features as standard, including ESC, side head protection system with curtain airbags, pedestrian protection technology, and seat belt reminders.

However, the excellent safety score is backed by standard safety features like frontal airbags, belt pre-tensioners, load limiters, curtain airbags, and ESC.

Summary

The Honda Amaze's five-star safety rating makes it one the safest compact sedans in its segment. It now stands shoulder to shoulder with its prime rival - the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, which also achieved a full five-star rating under the same BNCAP crash test.
