The extended warranty can be availed over and above the standard 24-month warranty available and is relevant for an additional two years. The British manufacturer announced the extended warranty on the sidelines of the 2019 Street Twin and the Street Scrambler launch. The new bikes are also included under the extended warranty scheme that covers unlimited kilometres on all Triumph motorcycles in a bid to offer hassle-free ownership to the customers. The warranty is globally applicable at all of Triumph's global dealerships and is transferrable too, in case of a new owner.

The car will have its first proper outing at a race track for the pre-testing in Barcelona, ahead of the new season that starts in March.

The 14-year-old made his single-seater racing debut with the MRF F1600 series as he moves up from the go-kart championships. The previous youngest age for a driver in the series was 16-years. The race weekend conducted last week was held as a support event to the international MRF Challenge (F2000) with plenty of international drivers making it to the Madras Motor Race Track (MMRT) in Chennai for the championship.

    TVS Motor Company has rolled out the ABS-equipped version of the Apache RTR 160 4V in the country. The TVS Apache RTR 160 4V ABS is available only on the fuel-injected version for now and is priced at Rs. 98,644 (ex-showroom, Pune). The ABS version of the motorcycle is priced at a premium of Rs. 6999 over the non-ABS model. The Apache 160 carburetted version though still misses out on the feature for now, but is likely to go on sale in the following weeks and will command a premium of around Rs. 5000. The two-wheeler maker is yet to announce the addition of the safety feature officially, but the Apache RTR 160 4V FI ABS is available for bookings at select dealerships pan India.

    Indian racing driver Arjun Maini has decided to switch to sportscar racing from Formula 2. The driver will be competing in the Le Mans 24 Hours this year and will follow it up with a full season campaign in the European Le Mans Series. The 21-year-old becomes only the third Indian driver after Narain Karthikeyan and Karun Chandhok to be part of a Le Mans weekend. Maini has signed a deal with RLR MSport and will be driving the new Oreca 07 in the endurance LMP2 class with co-drivers John Farano from Canada and Brazil's Bruno Senna. The Brazilian though will not contest in the 24 Hours of Le Mans with RLR, given his existing commitments with Rebellion Racing in the LMP1 class. RLR has promised a big replacement to Senna and will announce the driver's name when the official entry list for Le Mans 2019 is released.

    Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has introduced the Combined Braking System (CBS) on its popular selling CB Shine range. The safety feature will be mandatory on all 125 cc and below two-wheelers from April 1, 2019, onwards, and is now offered on the entry-level variants of the motorcycles. Both the Honda CB Shine and CB Shine SP get CBS on the drum brake variant, while the range-topping disc version continues to be on sale. The Honda CB Shine CBS Drum brake version is priced at Rs. 58,338. The Honda CB Shine SP Drum CBS, meanwhile, is priced at Rs. 64,098 (all prices, ex-showroom Delhi). Both versions are priced at a premium of Rs. 559 over the non-CBS variants.

    Chennai-based bike maker Royal Enfield has silently updated the prices across its motorcycle range this month. The manufacturer has increased prices on its 350-500 cc line-up by up to Rs. 1500. Royal Enfield is yet to officially announce the price hike, but the dealers are retailing the bikes with the updated prices starting this month. The price increase affects all models including the Bullet 350 and 500, Classic 350 and 500 as well as the Himalayan. Prices for the newly launched Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 remain unchanged.
