The BMW R 1250 RT is a touring motorcycle and it too gets subtle updates in terms of colours used. The motorcycle gets a dual-tone colour scheme of Blue Planet Metallic and Sparkling Storm Metallic. Apart from the new colour scheme, the R 1250 RT also features a few chrome elements such as handlebar weights, windshield trim and so on. One can also buy the R 1250 RT with a brown seat as well.
Both motorcycles get the new 1,254 cc boxer-twin engine which also does duty on the BMW R 1250 GS The engine pumps out 134 bhp at 7,750 rpm and has peak torque output of 143 Nm at 6,250 rpm. There is a six-speed gearbox which sends power to the rear via a final shaft drive and both motorcycles have top speed of more than 200 kmph. The variable camshaft control BMW ShiftCam is basically the engine getting variable valve timing and differential valve lift on a motorcycle in order to offer better spread of torque across the rev range, refinement and also reducing emissions and increasing fuel consumption.

The BMW R 1250 R is a naked roadster, which sits right atop BMW's naked motorcycle range and it replaced the R 1200 R in India when it was launched in 2019. It get the new 1,254 cc boxer-twin engine which also does duty on the BMW R 1250 GS. The engine pumps out 134 bhp at 7,750 rpm and has peak torque output of 143 Nm at 6,250 rpm. Plus, the motorcycle is equipped with a lot of advanced electronics. But all these come with a hefty price tag.
