MG Hector Hawk EV

Introduction  

• The upcoming Hector Hawk EV is JSW MG Motor India’s first all-electric SUV built on the modular ADAPT platform.  

• The upcoming electric SUV is a badge-engineered derivative of the global Wuling Starlight 560 which is adapted for the Indian market.  

• The flexible ADAPT architecture will support multiple electrified powertrains (EV, PHEV, Range Extender, and Strong Hybrid)  

• Moreover, this is expected to form the basis for the MG’s first plug-in hybrid (PHEV) in the country. 

• The upcoming EV SUV will offer a three-row seating layout along with the company’s modern electrified design language and connected vehicle tech. 

How is the exterior of the MG Hector Hawk EV? 

• As seen in the leaked images, the fascia will be highlighted by an illuminated ‘MG logo’ in the grille with a full-width light bar element which extends directly into the headlamps. 

• It will retain the distinctive twin parallel LED daytime running lamps (DRLs) which are integrated into the headlamp clusters above an aerodynamically sculpted bumper. 

• Whereas the side profile highlight brand-specific alloy wheel design, which is flanked by sleek window lines, protective body cladding, and distinctive D-pillar trim elements. 

• The rear styling incorporates sharp LED tail lamps that mirror the twin-element lighting signature found at the front. 

How is the interior of the MG Hector Hawk EV? 

• The three-row layout in the cabin features bench-style seating across both the second and third rows 

• At the time of launch, some of the variants are expected to be offered with captain seat option in the middle row. 

• The dashboard is highlighted by a large central touchscreen infotainment system which houses navigation, multimedia, and vehicle controls. 

• Behind the steering wheel the vehicle gets a modern, standalone binnacle-less digital instrument cluster for driving telematics. 

• Further, the layout emphasises on open space, digital connectivity, and practical three-row passenger utility. 

What powertrain does the MG Hector Hawk EV offer? 

• While the final India-spec figures are to be confirmed, the international spec model (Starlight 560) gets a 69.2 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery pack. 

• The vehicle utilises a front-mounted electric motor which delivers 201 bhp and 310 Nm of peak torque. 
• The electric powertrain is expected to offer a driving range of up to 530 km on a single full charge.
