Mini Clubman Production Ends After 17 Years
New MINI Clubman Launched In India At Rs. 37.9 Lakh
Geneva Motorshow Preview: MINI Clubman Concept
The new MINI Clubman has taken a leap into the second generation, witnessing comprehensive aesthetic changes. Sharing underpinnings with the Cooper S, it underpins the front-wheel-drive UKL platform and it touted as the longest model in the British car marque’s portfolio. Taking into account the close resemblance with the Cooper S, the new Clubman can be referred as the longer five-door wagon version of Cooper S. That said, the car has boastful dimensions, measuring 270mm longer, 90mm wider that the standard MINI-5 door. The additional 100mm wheelbase implicates spacious cabin and luggage compartment with a capacity of 360 litres that can further be expanded to 1250 litres. Priced at Rs 37.9 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the new MINI Clubman is available with a choice of petrol and diesel engines mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
Delving deep into the design changes, the new MINI Clubman gets a larger front grille with honeycomb pattern and a larger black chrome slat with chrome surround. The swooping headlamp cluster gets the projector lights and LED DRLs with chrome bezels. Other key changes made to the face like the muscular lines on bumper, new round fog lamps and wide central air dam complete the aggressive front look. The side profile is largely same as the previous model save for the new alloy wheels, new ORVMs and restyled door handles. Attributes like the quintessential two-door tailgate with chunky handles, Clubman badge, new horizontal LED tail lamps, chrome tipped exhaust pipes and plastic cladding give rear profile an intriguing look. Coming to the interior, it is more spacious and offers space for four adults. In terms of design it remains unchanged with the only addition of a redesigned dashboard. Power on the new MINI Clubman comes from the 2.0 litre petrol engine making 189bhp and the 3.0 litre diesel unit produces 148bhp. Both the engines are mated to an 8–speed automatic transmission.
MINI Clubman Ex-Showroom price ranges from ₹ 45.78 to 52.17 Lakh. MINI offers Clubman in 2 variants. The top variant of Clubman is Summer Edition and the base variant is Cooper S.
