Renault Bridger

Introduction

• Renault unveiled the Bridger Concept globally on March 10, 2026.
• This concept is a preview to an upcoming sub-four-metre SUV.
• When launched, the Renault Bridger could be positioned between the Kiger and the Duster.
• If things go according to the plan, we think we might see this launched for the Indian market by Diwali.

• Renault India will design and develop the Bridger in our country.
• No points for guessing that the name 'Bridger' has been derived from the word 'bridge'.
• It symbolises 'connection' and depicts it position between the Kiger and the Duster.
• 'ER' has been added to be in line with the product portfolio.
• Its new images show the rugged, boxy, yet a stylish appearance more like the new Defender than the Thar.
• The Bridger boasts an illuminated 'RENAULT' badging and a tailgate-mounted spare wheel.

Interior of the Renault Bridger

• No images of the interior have been revealed yet.
• Neither has any information been provided about its cabin.
• However, we can expect the modern equipment including digital screens and other wizardry.
• It would be interesting to see if Renault brings in something unique to the table.

Powertrain of the Renault Bridger

• We expect the Renault Bridger to be offered in different powertrain options.
• Its ICE model could be powered by a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine seen in the Kiger.
• So, transmission options could include a manual and a CVT.
• We have our apprehensions about the hybrid, but it looks EV-ready and could spawn a model as a pure EV.
