Audi has announced plans to upgrade part of their vehicle electrical system from 12 to 48 volts. The system has been previewed on the RS 5 TDI concept and will feature a subsidiary 48 volt electrical system that incorporates new storage technologies and delivers more power when compared to the 12 volt system with lead batteries.

A wet track saw drivers shying away from setting times in the first 30 minutes of the FP3 session at the Belgian Grand Prix. However, as the track dried up, the soft tyre compound came into play and the set times started to tumble.
