However, the Indian auto industry has not only progressed over the years but also brought a massive change in our safety standards, emission standards and general road safety culture, for the better. Mechanic cum innovator, Guddu Sharma, a resident of Bagaha, Bihar, has converted his Tata Nano car into a non-flying helicopter. He wants to rent it out for weddings for Rs. 15,000.

Tata Motors has not produced a single unit of its most affordable car - the Nano - in the last three months. According to a report in PTI, Tata Motors has not sold a single unit of the Nano in March 2019. The company is yet to take a call on the future of the Nano, chances of it surviving the upcoming crash test norms are slim. The stringent safety norms will require the Nano to be redesigned from scratch which will not be possible without fresh investment.
