About Aprilia Storm 125
The Aprilia Storm 125 has received the new front disc brake variant in its line-up along with BS6 compliance. The new Aprilia Storm 125 Front Disc brake variant is priced at Rs. 91,321 (ex-showroom, Pune) and is now the entry-level version in the Aprilia scooter family. The model shares its underpinnings with the SR 125 and 160, but has been positioned as a more funky, off-road-ready derivative that for anyone wanting to join the Aprilia family. The 2020 Storm 125 also comes with a semi-digital instrument console along with the front disc brake, while the model competes against the more competitively priced TVS NTorq 125 in the segment.
The 2020 Aprilia Storm 125 BS6 draws power from the 124.45 cc single-cylinder, three-valve engine with fuel-injection that belts out 9.7 bhp and 9.7 Nm of peak torque. The engine continues to be paired with a CVT automatic. Mechanically, the hardware remains the same on the 125 cc scooter and comes with telescopic front forks and a monoshock unit at the rear. The new braking set-up including a 220 mm disc at the front, replacing the drum brake unit, while the rear sports a 130 mm drum brake. There’s Combined Braking System (CBS) for effective and safe brake performance.
Compared to the SR 125 that the Aprilia Storm 125 shares its underpinnings with, the model differentiates itself with the wide cross pattern tyres wrapped on 12-inch blacked-out alloy wheels. The tyres not only offer better grip on rough surfaces but are also confidence-inspiring for mild off-road excursions. Other than the addition of a front disc brake and the sem-digital instrument console, the BS6 Storm 125 remains identical to the older version.
The Aprilia 125 cc scooter retains the sporty design language with the dual headlamp set-up with halogen bulbs and a turn indicators mounted in the handlebar cowl. The scooter does get bold graphics that differentiate it from the other Aprilia models, while the funky yellow and red colours are certain to stand out. The slim body shell is made out of fibre-glass that helps offer a healthy power-to-weight ratio. The Aprilia Storm 125 BS6 Front Disc Brake can be booked online on the company’s website, or at a dealership pan India.
