Tata Motors Bags Contract To Supply 300 Electric Buses To Ahmedabad Janmarg
Tata Motors has announced that it has bagged the contract to supply 300 electric buses to the Ahmedabad Janmarg Limited (AJL). The automaker had previously delivered 200 electric buses to the government under the FAME I initiative, covering over 60 per cent of the market share. The new mandate is the largest in the country so far, making Tata the only Indian manufacturer to bag the biggest order supporting the government's e-mobility drive. The company will supply the Urban 9/9 Electric buses that will run in Ahmedabad's BRTS corridor. The e-buses will be deployed under the OPEX model and Tata Motors will be setting up the required infrastructure to support fast charging and support system, the manufacturer said in a statement.

TVS Motor Company has updated the popular-selling Apache RTR 200 4V with Bluetooth-enabled SmartXonnect mobile app technology. The updated TVS Apache RTR 200 4V is priced at Rs. 1.14 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), which is marginally higher than the current model. The Bluetooth connectivity feature allows users to connect their smartphones with the motorcycle with the digital instrument console displaying a number of functions including navigation, race telemetry, tour mode, lean angle mode, crash alert and call/SMS notification. Sherco TVS Rally Factory Team is all set to enter the 2019 Rally of Morocco starting this weekend and will be fielding a three-rider squad with racers Michael Metge, Lorenzo Santolino and Johnny Aubert. The Rally of Morocco is the final round of FIM Cross Country Rallies World Championship and will take place between October 3-9, 2019. Car Sales September 2019: Hyundai Sales Drop Nearly 15%
Hyundai Motor India reported a sales decline of 14.8 per cent in September 2019 in domestic volumes. The Korean auto giant sold 40,705 units last month, as opposed to 47,781 units sold during the same month last year. The volumes remain underwhelming for the automaker that has been reporting a de-growth since the beginning of the year. However, the manufacturer's witness sales recovered month-on-month in September, when compared to the 16.58 per cent decline registered in August 2019.

Datsun GO & GO+ Receive 5 Per Cent Price Hike
Japanese automaker Nissan India has announced a price hike on the Datsun GO and GO+ hatchbacks in its line-up by five per cent, with immediate effect. The automaker attributed the increase in prices to multiple costs with safety at the centre of it. While official prices are yet to be revealed, the Datsun GO range currently starts at Rs. 3.32 lakh, going up Rs. 5.17 lakh, and will see an increase in prices between Rs. 16,600-26,000, depending on the variant. Similarly, the Datsun GO+ is currently priced between Rs. 3.86 lakh and Rs. 5.94 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom), and will see an increase of around Rs. 19,000 to Rs. 30,000, based on the variant.

Mahindra & Ford Announce New Joint Venture To Co-Develop New Products For Emerging Markets
Automakers Ford Motor Company and Mahindra & Mahindra have signed a new agreement to create a joint venture that will develop, market and distribute Ford vehicles in India. The announcement comes amidst rife speculations, and the joint venture will see the American carmaker transfer ownership of its Sanand and Chennai facilities to Mahindra. Under the new JV, Mahindra owns a 51 per cent controlling stake, while the remaining 49 per cent is owned by Ford. While the companies will co-develop products going forward, they will continue to retail offering across their independent dealer networks.

Benelli Leoncino 250 India Launch Details Out
Benelli India will launch the Leoncino 250 motorcycle in the country on October 4, 2019, carandbike can confirm. The Chinese-owned Italian manufacturer is all set to re-enter the quarter-litre segment after the TNT 25 was discontinued last year, and the new model is expected to bring a niche with itself as the most affordable scrambler-styled offering to go on sale. It also seems Benelli has decided to fast-track the launch of its 250 cc version, instead of the original plan to bring the model by the end of this year after the Imperiale 400 goes on sale. The Benelli Leoncino 250 will share its underpinnings with the Leoncino 500 that was introduced earlier this year and is priced at Rs. 4.79 lakh (ex-showroom). This one though will be substantially more affordable with prices expected under Rs. 2 lakh (ex-showroom).
