Cons
- The bi-directional quickshifter feels abrupt and clunky while crawling through the city (works best at higher revs).
- Stiff ride quality due to the rear monoshock damping characteristics.
- Design language remains similar to the standard N250 and misses out on any serious differentiation.
- Although 4-valve head add breathability, it lacks the high-revving nature of the liquid-cooled bikes like the KTM Duke 250.
Verdict
The Bajaj Pulsar N250 SS now has what it deserved by swapping the old 2-valve, 5-speed setup for a punchier 4-valve engine and a 6-speed gearbox. Additions like the bi-directional quickshifter, 5-inch TFT console with full Google Maps navigation, and radial rear tyre now make it a sensible streetfighter.
After riding the Bajaj Pulsar N250 SS, Janak Sorap said “Now with a more refined engine, six-speed gearbox with a quickshifter improve the riding experience, while the additional technology makes it a considerably more modern motorcycle.”
We feel that at lower speeds the quickshifter needs to be smoother and the ride quality could have been a bit more comfortable. That said, at its price, the N250 SS delivers exceptional value, which makes it one of the more practical motorcycles in its segment.
