  • About Kawasaki Ninja H2R

The Kawasaki Ninja H2R has been in the headlines for being one of a kind. The Japanese brand took more than three years to design the Kawasaki Ninja H2, which is the predecessor of the H2R.

When you analyse the speed and specifications of Ninja H2, you feel this is probably the best there is.

The Kawasaki superbike is not a road bike but is limited to only tracks because of its mind-boggling specifications. With a 1000cc engine that produces power of 310 bhp at 14000 rpm and a peak torque of 165 Nm at 12500 rpm, this is an untamable beast controlled only by its superior top-quality brakes.

The latest model of the superbike, the 2021 Ninja H2R, is the successor of the Ninja H2 model. The bike can be best defined as a combination of Kawasaki’s top auto design mated with Formula One specification and assisted by aviation technology. Yes, it sounds crazy, but that’s probably the only way to describe this superbike.

The Ninja H2R starts at an ex-showroom price of Rs. 79.9 lakh and has only one variant, available in just one colour. Based on the superbike price and “track-only” quality, you can easily guess that Kawasaki has kept their client base very exclusive for this untamed beast.

The superbike is comparatively heavier in terms of weight due to its incorporation of heavy tech features and other qualities. The Ninja H2R weighs 216 kg which is felt while cornering but still doesn’t hamper the experience.

Coming to technology, it is arguably the most advanced bike in the market. It is so advanced that we will never be able to see the Ninja H2R on a public road because even the makers of this bike state that this ballistic missile can be ridden only by a few highly skilled and trained bikers.

Kawasaki was already producing lightning-fast superbikes, but to create this missile of a bike, the Japanese automakers pushed themselves hard to create something that the world has never witnessed before. It has possibly opened a new door to performance motorcycles.

Although the Kawasaki Ninja H2R has no direct competition in the superbike range, it competes with Suzuki Hayabusa, BMW S 1000 R and Ducati Streetfighter V4.

    Kawasaki Ninja H2R Expert Review

    line

The Kawasaki Ninja H2R is one of the most exciting motorcycles globally, offering superlative performance figures above all else. The bike is the track-based version of the regular H2 and is the only such supercharged bike for mass production worldwide.

    How is the design?

The Kawasaki Ninja H2R comes with the same iconic design, while the riding stance and position remain absolutely unchanged. There is no doubt that its looks are meant to symbolize confidence, power, and performance in that order. It has the classic superbike look along with CFRP wings positioned upon the upper cowl in place of mirrors for a superior generation of down-force. The paint themes are spectacular and come with exclusive coats for enabling self-repairing of scratches. The design is aerodynamic and tailored for track-based performance.

    How is the performance?

The Kawasaki Ninja H2R comes with a powerful four-cylinder 998 cc engine that is paired with a unique transmission system drawing inspiration from MotoGP. The engine makes a huge 305 hp along with 165 Nm of maximum torque. The engine can also get up to 400 kmph on the track and could be a record-breaking proposition for users. The supercharged engine has a quick-shifter for the 6-speed gearbox and the single-sided swingarm enables the mounting of the bike’s titanium exhaust in a different way. It suffices to say that performance is spectacular with a powerful, quick, and responsive engine.

How does the Kawasaki Ninja H2R ride?

The Kawasaki Ninja H2R comes with twin 330mm front disc brakes along with rear single 250mm disc brakes. These are paired to the ABS for better braking. The electronics package is comprehensive, enabling superior ride and handling at the highest possible speeds. There is also Kawasaki traction control along with intelligent ABS features from Kawasaki. There are fabulous angles to be accomplished while cornering owing to the swingarm and its placement. Handling is also bolstered by the Ohlins TTX36 rear suspension setup. This offers more damping and stability at the rear along with higher road stability and feedback alike.

How comfortable is the Kawasaki Ninja H2R?

The riding position offers reasonable comfort at really high speeds while there are supporting pads on the rear for quick and fast acceleration. This can be adjusted for more comfort. The Ohlins suspension system offers better rear stability, comfort, damping, and a better riding experience.

    How’s the tech?

The Kawasaki Ninja H2R comes with the Ohlins steering damper, adjustable inverted front forks, Ohlins adjustable rear shock, Brembo discs, oil jets, a Bosch IMU, Kawasaki Cornering Management Function, Kawasaki Quick Shifter, Ohlins electronic steering damper, Ram air intake, and bank angle/max bank angle displays for the instrument console.

How’s the mileage of the Kawasaki Ninja H2R?

The Kawasaki Ninja H2R offers a mileage of anywhere around 12-15 kmpl at the most.

Is the Kawasaki Ninja H2R good value for money?

The Kawasaki Ninja H2R is track-focused and is not a real-world or on-road bike. Hence, it will generate huge value for those who are focused on the finest that performance biking has to offer. At its price, it is meant for true connoisseurs and comes with all the bells and whistles that one would expect at this price point as well.

    How is the after-sales service?

Before scaling up overall speed, users should ride for half an hour at 4,000 RPM and then at 6,000 RPM for another half an hour. The intervals are 15 hours for the first service and 30 hours for the second service.

Which motorbikes compete in the segment?

The Kawasaki Ninja H2R competes with similar powerful bikes in its category including the Ducati Panigale V4, BMW S 1000 R, and the Suzuki Hayabusa among others.

    Verdict (Value for Money)

The Kawasaki Ninja H2R stands out as a dream bike for those aspiring for scorching performance and superior riding dynamics on the track. This is a bike for serious performance enthusiasts and track riders and not for the average superbike buyer as well. On that count, it generates huge value despite its huge price tag, offering superior features, electronics, a stylish design, and unmatched performance, above all else.
