F1: Raikkonen Beats Vettel To Take Pole For Italian GP
Kimi Raikkonen claimed his first pole of the season, beating Ferrari teammate Sebastian Vettel for the 2018 Formula 1 Italian Grand Prix. The Ferrari driver started Q3 behind Lewis Hamilton and was the second fastest in the early runs of the top 10 shootout. But Raikkonen progressed in setting faster times outpacing Hamilton and even Vettel. Raikkonen's 1m19.119s lap record is a new lap record at Monza and included a final sector that was more than a tenth of a second faster than anyone else. The iceman has become the oldest pole-sitter in F1 since Nigel Mansell in 1994.

F1 : 2019 Formula 1 Draft Calendar Announced
Formula 1 has released the draft calendar for the 2019 FIA F1 World Championship. The 2019 calendar will see the team's contest in 21 Grand Prix races, equalling to that held in 2016 and 2018. Off the 21 races, 11 races will be held in Europe, followed by five in Asia and four in the Americas. The opening race, as always will be held in Australia, the only race for the continent. The calendar will be submitted for the approval to the FIA World Motorsport Council meeting on October 12 this year.

Royal Enfield is gearing up to introduce the highly awaited Continental GT 650 and the Interceptor, with a global launch slated in September this year, President - Rudratej Singh has revealed. Bajaj Bikes To Get More Expensive By Up To Rs. 8000 From Next Month
Bajaj Auto has announced that its motorcycles will see a hike of about Rs. 3000 to Rs. 8000 in the on-road prices, starting from September 1, 2018. The hike comes in lieu of the decision to make third party insurance cover mandatory up to five years on new two-wheelers by insurance regulator IRDAI. Not only Bajaj Auto, but the ruling affects all manufacturers and prices will increase two-wheelers by a substantial margin. New passenger cars will also come with a mandatory insurance cover of three years, as per the ruling.

An electric prototype of the Mahindra Mojo was recently spotted testing in Bengaluru. The electric bike was spotted testing near the Bosch factory in the city, hinting towards a possible variant coming up in the future. Speculations also suggest that the Mojo Electric could have been built by a component manufacturer with the bike used as a base to test its technology. JK Tyre Inaugurates New Research And Development Facility In Mysore
India's third-largest tyre maker, JK Tyre inaugurated its new Research and Development (R&D) facility - Raghupati Singhania Centre of Excellence (RPSCOE) at Mysore, Karnataka. The new RPSCOE Centre is part of the Harishankar Singhania Elastomer and Tyre Research Institute (HASETRI) and aims to consolidate the brand's efforts towards product development, ideation and innovation. The R&D facility will be bringing the company's engineers, technicians, scientists from its previous four independent centres under one location, consolidating the tyre maker's growth effort. Apart from the Indian centres, the new R&D facility will also coordinate the company's product development and research operations in Mexico. RPSCOE has been built with an initial investment of over Rs. 175 crore that includes the infrastructure cost and the testing equipment.

Royal Enfield Himalayan ABS Bookings Open Across Dealerships
Royal Enfield dealerships in India have begun accepting bookings for the Himalayan ABS version, CarAndBike can confirm. The adventure motorcycle will be the first model post the newly launched Classic Signals edition in the Royal Enfield line-up to get the safety feature and will sport the same dual-channel unit that debuted on the special edition model yesterday. Dealerships have conveyed a tentative price of Rs. 1.79 lakh (ex-showroom) for the Royal Enfield Himalayan ABS, which will make it about Rs. 10,000-12,000 more expensive than the standard version currently on sale. The Chennai-based bike maker announced the introduction of ABS on its 500 cc models and the Himalayan yesterday.

Sebastian Vettel took a dominant win in the 2018 Formula 1 Belgian Grand Prix beating Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton.
