BS6 Compliant Aprilia SR 160 & Vespa 150 Scooters Launched In India; Prices Start At Rs. 85,431
Piaggio India has rolled out the BS6 compliant versions of the Aprilia and Vespa scooters in the country. The scooters now get a high performance 160 cc single-cylinder engine that is now fuel-injected in order to meet the upcoming stringent emission norms. With the new powertrain, the Aprilia SR 150 has been rebadged as the Aprilia SR 160. The new Aprilia SR 160 now starts from Rs. 85,431, which is about Rs. 10,000 more expensive than the older version. The new BS6 Vespa 150 SXL, meanwhile, starts at Rs. 91,492 (all-prices, ex-showroom Pune).

Delhi Government Drafts Electric Vehicle Policy 2019
The Delhi government has released the draft for the Electric Vehicle Policy 2019 that aims at the frequent use of electric vehicles in the national capital. The policy draft states that the primary goal is to improve Delhi's air quality by bringing down emissions from the transport sector. As a result, the policy will seek the rapid adoption of Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs) in such a way that they contribute 25 per cent to the overall new vehicle registrations by 2024." The draft of the Delhi EV Policy was first put out in the public domain in November last year and suggestions and comments from the stakeholders including non-profit think-tanks, academic experts, EV and battery manufacturers, as well as multilateral bodies and concerned individuals.

The final round of the Champions Yacht Club FMSCI Indian National Rally Championship (INRC) concluded on Sunday bring an end to the action-packed season. India's ace rally driver Gaurav Gill won the 2019 Popular Rally, dominating the rally for the fifth time. However, making a storming comeback was Chetan Shivram who returned to complete the rally after a crash on Saturday and claim his maiden INRC crown. Shivram along with his co-driver Dilip Sharan was one of the casualties of the multiple crashes on Saturday but worked on his rally-spec Volkswagen Polo overnight to stage a strong return on Sunday.

Kia Seltos To Get A Price Hike From January 2020
Kia Motors India will be increasing prices for the Seltos compact SUV from January 1, 2020. The automaker has sent out a letter to the dealer principles across the country informing about the price hike that has been termed as "substantial" over the current prices. The Kia Seltos is presently priced between Rs. 9.69 lakh and Rs. 16.99 lakh (ex-showroom India), and customers receiving their vehicles before December 31, 2019, will be locked under these prices. However, those customers that have booked the Seltos and are scheduled for delivery next year will have to pay the premium.

F1: Jaypee Group Loses 1000 Hectares Of Land Used For The Buddh International Circuit
The Buddh International Circuit (BIC) has been hit by issues once again as the Yamuna Expressway Authority cancelled the allotment of 1000 hectares of land in Greater Noida to the Jaypee group on Saturday. India's first and only F1 track is located in this land as part of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority's (YEIDA) special economic zone. The cancellation arises due to the promoters' non-payment of dues across multiple projects that prompted the authorities to take the action. The decision was taken in YEIDA's 66th board meeting.

The Ather 450 electric scooter has received its sixth over-the-air update since its launch last year. Customers of the e-scooter in Bengaluru and Chennai have received the newest update - 4.1.0 that brings a number of enhancements to the model. Yamaha Motor India has issued a voluntary recall for 7757 units of the FZ-FI and the FZS-FI motorcycles for the non-fitment of the rear-side reflector. The recall will see the two-wheeler maker install the aforementioned part on the affected motorcycles free of cost. Owners can visit any of the authorised service centres across the country to get the part installed. The recall affects all FZ-FI and FZS-FI motorcycles that were manufactured after October 2019 and will most likely the new BS6 range. Even the bikes that are waiting to be delivered to customers at dealerships will have the missing part installed first, according to the company.

Hyundai Aura Official Sketches Revealed
Hyundai Motor India has released the first official sketches of the Aura subcompact sedan, ahead of its public debut on December 19, 2019. The all-new Hyundai Aura will step in place of the Xcent in the company's line-up and the sketches reveal the Grand i10 Nios connection with the new model. It certainly does look sportier in the sketches with the massive grille up front with the LED DRLs at either end, sweptback headlamps and a muscular bonnet that promise a sporty looking vehicle. Hyundai says the Aura design projects a "sportier, futuristic and a progressive image based on its Next-generation Design Direction of Sensuous Sportiness."

Skoda India has an onslaught of new offerings lined up for launch in the next two years with at least four new models confirmed in 2020. While we recently told you about the Karoq SUV's launch details, Skoda has officially said that the Superb facelift will also be arriving next year with the launch scheduled on May 2020. Zac Hollis, Director Sales, Service & Marketing, Skoda Auto India, has confirmed the development via Twitter and the company's flagship sedan will arrive with several cosmetic upgrades and feature additions over the current model. Meanwhile, the Kodiaq BS6 will also arrive by late 2020. It's unclear if the diesel engine will continue to power the SUV or if it will continue with a petrol motor.
