Benelli Leoncino 800

The Leoncino 800 is a larger and more potent version of the Leoncino 500 currently sold by Benelli in India. Internationally, Benelli offers the Leoncino 800 in two variants - Standard and Trail. The standard version is road-biased and comes with a traditionally-shaped yet muscular fuel tank, sculpted lines, and a petite tail section. It gets Leoncino branding on the side panels giving a contemporary appeal to the motorcycle, while the round LED headlamp with the U-shaped LED daytime running light offers a mix of old and new. The motorcycle rides on 17-inch wheels at both ends with a 120-section tyre up front and a 180-section unit at the rear. 

Coming to the Trail variant, it features a bunch of off-road friendly enhancements like high-mounted exhaust pipes, a small flyscreen, and knobby tyres with a 19-inch front with long travel suspension. Both versions get a 50 mm Marzocchi USD fork at the front with rebound, compression and preload adjustment. On the road-biased version, the suspension travel measures 130 mm, while on the Trail version, it goes up to 140 mm. The seat height is taller on the Trail for off-roading, measuring 828 mm. At the rear, both versions get a preload adjustable mono-shock. 

The Leoncino 800 is underpinned by a tubular steel frame and is powered by a 754 cc liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine producing 75 bhp and 68 Nm of peak torque, paired with a 6-speed gearbox. Braking duties are handled by Brembo units on both ends. 

Once launched, the bike will compete against the likes of the Kawasaki Z800, Ducati Scrambler 800 and the upcoming Triumph Street Triple R.
