Hero MotoCorp has continually updated this legendary motorcycle to meet evolving emission norms without losing its utilitarian personality. Positioned as the base pillar for the brand’s volume sales, it sits above the HF Deluxe, attracting budget-conscious buyers, particularly from rural areas.
This review has insights from the bike’s detailed testing by our car&bike team. We also checked out the Hero Splendor+ Xtec 2.0 when it first launched, and motoring journalist Preetam Bora compared its performance and practicality with that of the Bajaj Freedom 125. Regarding updates, we now see the i3S start-stop technology here that massively improves fuel economy. But, at its core, its mechanical underpinnings are traditionally simple. Ultimately, this is a bike that can handle daily travel with ease without being a burden on the owner’s pockets.

City Riding Experience
Inside the city, we found that the engine has sufficient bottom-end acceleration, and the throttle response is linear, allowing riders to cut through narrow lanes without working on the gears often. The bike’s four-speed gearbox has the traditional all-up shift pattern, and each gear hits perfectly without locking down. Meanwhile, the clutch is light, allowing the driver to stay relaxed during long commutes.
Highway Riding Experience
However, open highways reveal this 97.2 cc motor’s limits. Till 60 kmph, the motorcycle cruises effortlessly, but after 70 kmph, vibrations travel across its footpegs and handlebars. We ask you to avoid overtaking higher displacement vehicles with this bike.

The Hero Splendor Plus’ design remains the same, sticking to its highly conservative template. It puts function and familiarity ahead of aggression or modernity.

Build Quality & Materials
To our inspection, we found the motorcycle quite durable. Yes, most of the elements used around the side panels and the headlamp cowl are basic plastics, but they are sturdy. The paint finish is also consistent, while the tubular double-cradle frame provides high structural integrity. However, some panel gaps are noticeable in the body.
