About Hyundai i20 Active
Hyundai i20 Active is the beefed up version of Elite i20 hatchback. Joining the likes of Etios Cross and Volkswagen Cross Polo in the hatchback based crossover segment, i20 Active is by far the most attractive and sporty model in this space. The crossover shares engine set up with i20 hatchback and gets a manual transmission missing out on the automatic unit.
The Hyundai i20 Active has been a strong seller in the crossover segment in India and it was at the Auto Expo 2018 that we first saw the facelift of the car and the company has finally launched it in India. Prices of the Hyundai i20 Active start from Rs 6.99 lakh and it comes with a host of changes; some of which we've already seen on the i20 hatchback. The price of the petrol i20 Active starts from Rs 6.99 lakh going all the way up to Rs 8.66 lakh, while the diesel version starts at Rs 8.96 lakh going up to Rs 10.01 lakh (all prices ex-showroom Delhi).
Hyundai i20 Active Exterior
On the outside, i20 Active is largely similar to its hatchback sibling except for few add-ons that accentuate its sporty character. New elements introduced on the front profile include projector head lamps with DRLs, skid plate and a new bumper with fog lamps. Rear end looks a tad different with additions such as new silver skid plate and reworked bumper with circular reflectors. The black body cladding, 16-inch alloy wheels, roof rails and roof spoiler further accentuate the beefed up look.

On the inside, i20 is akin to Elite i20 hatchback with similar equipment and styling elements save for the vibrant dual-tone colour scheme available in two options-tangerine orange & black and aqua blue & black. Other than this, the crossover also gets new upholstery, aluminium coated pedals and partly coloured gear-knob.
Hyundai i20 Active Engine Specifications & Transmission
Petrol line-up sources power from the 1.2 litre, Kappa, engine producing 82bhp at 6000rpm and 11.7kgm of torque. Diesel range draws power from a 1.4 litre, U II unit pumping out 89bhp at 4000rpm along with 22.4kmg between 1500 to 2750RPM. Transmission duties are taken care of by a five-speed manual gearbox mated to the petrol engine and a six-speed manual unit that comes paired to the diesel variants.

Projector headlamps, LED DRLs, black front grille with chrome, roof spoiler, roof rails, alloy wheels, waistline moulding, chrome outside door handles and turn indicators on ORVMs are some of the vital features on the outside. Step inside to be greeted by a sporty cabin with a vivid dual-tone colour theme. The cabin has practical storage point and ample space for storing luggage. Features such as blue back lit instrument cluster, height adjuster for driver’s seat, front centre console armrest, adjustable headrests in front are packed inside.
