It should be noted that Volkswagen stopped production of the Beetle in 2019.

Aldekas Studios specialises in restoring vintage cars and from what we have seen and it mostly works with old VW Beetles and thats why maybe they have a surplus of fenders which have made them work on something like the Bugkart Wasowski.

VW has been mulling over the Beetle to go all electric, and with the electrification process in the works, top officials feel this is the right time to convert the upcoming Beetle into an all electric powertrain with a rear wheel drive functionality.

's been close to year since Volkswagen launched the new-gen Beetle in India and with that the company brought the much elusive nameplate back to India. Yes, it came at a cost and considering it was a CBU unit, it boasted of a price tag of Rs. 28.73 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Come 2017, a facelift of the Beetle is all set to hit the Indian market.

The record attempt Beetle was tuned specially for the event. It featured a 2.0-litre, direct injection (TSI) which produced a massive 543bhp and 570Nm or thereabouts. The changes to the engine included new twin turbochargers, pistons, camshafts, connecting rods etc. The final attempt saw the Beetle do a stunning 328.2 kmph over a distance of 1.6km.
