Audi RS5 Coupe

The 2021 Audi RS5 Sportback is the latest performance addition from Audi India in the country. The new RS5 Sportback sits on top of the A4 family that starts with the standard sedan, followed by the S5 Sportback and now the RS5 Sportback. It’s also a younger sibling to the manic RS7 Sportback also on sale in India. The new-generation Audi RS5 arrived in India as the two-door coupe in 2018, and the automaker has decided to bring the four-door Sportback with the facelifted version that promises more practicality in comparison. In addition to the extra doors, the 2021 Audi RS5 also gets styling tweaks and more tech than before. The new RS5 Sportback is available at an introductory price of Rs. 1.09 crore (ex-showroom).

Visual upgrades on the 2021 Audi RS5 Sportback include the new grille with the gloss-black finish on the honeycomb mesh. The air intakes on the bumper are new and redesigned for a sportier look. The model also gets new Matrix LED headlamps with new LED DRLs and dynamic turn indicators. Compared to its predecessor, the new RS5 Sportback gets 40 mm wider arches, while the rear sports new LED taillights and a reworked bumper. The RS5 Sportback rides on 19-inch 10-spoke alloy wheels and also gets chrome finished twin exhaust tips to complete the look. Lastly, the performance sedan gets RS steel brakes with RS black brake calipers allowing drivers to explore high speeds in a safe manner.

The new RS5 Sportback is available in eight colour options including Nardo Gray, Turbo Blue, Tango Red, Mythos Black, Glacier White, Navarra Blue, Sonoma Green, and Daytona Grey. With respect to safety, the Audi RS5 Sportback comes with six airbags, Parking Aid Plus with a rearview camera, cruise control and a host of electronic aids.

Other features include Audi Virtual Cockpit Plus, MMI Navigation plus with MMI touch, front sports seats with massage function, and driver-side memory. There's also three-zone climate control, Alcantara leather combination upholstery, panoramic sunroof, LED door projection lights and more.

Under the bonnet, the 2021 Audi RS5 Sportback uses the 2.9-litre bi-turbo V6 TFSI petrol engine tuned for 444 bhp and 600 Nm of peak torque. The motor is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The RS5 Sportback can sprint from 0-100 kmph in 3.9 seconds while the top speed is electronically limited to 250 kmph. The model also comes with Audi Drive Select with two RS modes coupled with the Quattro and RS Sports suspension. The Quattro permanent all-wheel drive, with a self-locking centre differential, optimises power delivery between the front and rear axles according to the driving conditions.

The new Audi RS5 Sportback competes against the Mercedes-AMG E 53 4MATIC Plus in the segment.
