2021 Audi RS5 Sportback Launched In India, Priced At Rs. 1.04 Crore

Audi India has launched the new RS5 Sportback in the country priced at Rs. 1.04 crore (ex-showroom, introductory). The 2021 Audi RS5 Sportback sits on top of the A4 family that also includes the standard sedan and the S5 Sportback, both of which are already on sale. While the current generation RS5 arrived in India as the two-door coupe in 2018, Audi has decided to bring the four-door Sportback with the facelifted version that promises more practicality in comparison. In addition to the extra doors, the 2021 Audi RS5 also gets styling tweaks and more tech than before.

2021 Audi RS5 Sportback brings the sloping roofline along with Matrix LED headlamps with LED DRLs and dynamic turn indicators
Commenting on the announcement, Balbir Singh Dhillon, Head of Audi India, said, “We are thrilled to launch the sporty spearhead of the product line – the Audi RS 5 Sportback in India. The Audi RS 5 is coming to India as a Sportback, for the very first time and will be the perfect choice for customers who want the Audi RS DNA in addition to everyday practicality. The Audi RS 5 Sportback is a superlative all-rounder, which is built with just the right mix of aggressive styling, heart-pumping performance, and opulent luxury which will garner tremendous affinity with performance car customers and existing Audi customers in India.”
Visual upgrades on the 2021 Audi RS5 Sportback include the new grille with the gloss-black finish on the honeycomb mesh. The air intakes on the bumper are new and redesigned for a sportier look. The model also gets new Matrix LED headlamps with new LED DRLs and dynamic turn indicators. Compared to its predecessor, the new RS5 Sportback gets 40 mm wider arches, while the rear sports new LED taillights and a reworked bumper. The RS5 Sportback rides on 19-inch 10-spoke alloy wheels and also gets chrome finished twin exhaust tips to complete the look.

Under the bonnet, the 2021 Audi RS5 Sportback uses the 2.9-litre bi-turbo V6 TFSI petrol engine tuned for 444 bhp and 600 Nm of peak torque. The motor is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The RS5 Sportback can sprint from 0-100 kmph in 3.9 seconds while the top speed is electronically limited to 250 kmph. The model also comes with Audi Drive Select with two RS modes coupled with the Quattro and RS Sports suspension.

Other features include Audi Virtual Cockpit Plus, MMI Navigation plus with MMI touch, Quattro with a self-locking centre differential, front sports seats with massage function, and driver-side memory. There's also three-zone climate control, Alcantara leather combination upholstery, panoramic sunroof, LED door projection lights and more. The new RS5 Sportback will be available in eight colour options including Nardo Gray, Turbo Blue, Tango Red, Mythos Black, Glacier White, Navarra Blue, Sonoma Green, and Daytona Grey. With respect to safety, the Audi RS5 Sportback comes with six airbags, Parking Aid Plus with a rearview camera, cruise control and a host of electronic aids.
