Prices for the petrol with the 5-speed manual gearbox start at Rs 8.19 lakh and go all the way up to Rs 9.97 lakh while the petrol automatic is priced at Rs 9.80 - 10.97 lakh ex-showroom. The diesel engined Maruti Suzuki Ciaz on the other hand gets just a manual gearbox and is priced from Rs 9.97 - 10.97 lakh. It is interesting to note that the fully loaded petrol auto and the fully loaded diesel manual are the exact same price. Delhi Government Proposes 50 Per Cent Less Road Tax For New CNG Vehicles
With the festive season approaching and pollution levels expected to spike in Delhi and most of north India once again, any approach towards reducing it is welcome. According to reports in HT, the Delhi Government plans to form a proposal by which it will offer a 50 per cent less reduction in Road Tax for brand new CNG vehicles that come with factory fitted CNG kits. It hopes this move will help promote the use of CNG vehicles, as compared to the standard petrol or the more popular diesel options. This move, if implemented could mean that cars could become cheaper due to cheaper taxes while registering them. This however will have no effect on ex-showroom prices.

Buddh International Circuit To Hold Track Day On September 2, 2018
The Buddh International Circuit, India's only Grade 1 circuit, which held the Indian Grand Prix in 2011, 2012 and 2013, will hold an open track day on September 2, 2018. The event, which will be run as a time trial will include both cars and two wheelers and will have independent slots for normal cars, sports cars, bikes below 400cc and bikes above 400cc. Participants will be able to use 30 min driving slots for cars or 25 min riding slots for two wheelers in order to enjoy the track for a safe - yet fast driving or riding experience.

New 7-Seater Diesel Honda CR-V India Launch Details Revealed
The Honda CR-V has been the flagship offering for the Japanese automaker for over a decade and a half now and has been the understated luxury car of choice for industrialists; film stars and the general well heeled public for a while now. Toyota Etios Liva Limited Edition Launched With Red Accents
Toyota has launched a limited edition of the Etios Liva hatchback in India. The new limted edition variant of the car will be available only in a white and black two tone paintjob but with get red accents all around. While the Etios Liva with a two tone paintjob has been available for a while now, the red accents seem to be inspired from the Toyota Yaris GRMN hot hatchback available in some international markets. The changes on the car are visual only and the new Toyota Etios Liva Limited Edition is available with both a petrol and diesel engine. The petrol variant is priced at Rs 6.50 lakh while the diesel variant is priced at Rs 7.65 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Gordon Murray Working On New Mid-Engine Lightweight Sportscar
Gordon Murray, the famous automotive designer known for the likes of some of the most successful F1 cars in the 70s and of course, the legendary McLaren F1 has hinted at a new mid-engine sportscar. Exclusive: Maruti Suzuki Ciaz Facelift Will Get New 1.5-litre Hybrid Petrol Engine
Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch yet another important product update in India. And this time, it is the highly anticipated Maruti Suzuki Ciaz Facelift. The new car will be launched in India on august 20, 2018 and will feature some changes on the exterior and on the interior but most importantly a brand new engine family too. The new Ciaz facelift will now get a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder petrol motor which will be mated to Maruti's mild hybrid SHVS (smart hybrid vehicle system) technology. This will also be the first time Maruti Suzuki will use the SHVS system on a petrol engine making the Ciaz the first ever offering from India's largest automaker to get a mild-hybrid option on all its engine options. Tesla Files Patent To Make Electric Car Batteries Safer
According to the patent, the new system has a feature or a material that will insulate battery cells from heat generated by surrounding battery cells. The material used will most likely be some sort of new age polymer. The system will also have cooled plates or 'heat pipes' that will help remove the heat generated from battery cells in general and also that generated from damaged battery cells. Other tech will involve air gaps between cells for cooling, a sleeve that will hold the system in place and a feature that will help direct hot gasses discharging from a damaged cell in a particular direction away from other working cells.

Suzuki To Invest $1 Billion Into Toyota India Plant
Maruti Suzuki is India's largest automaker with over 50 per cent market share. A few months ago, Maruti Suzuki and Toyota reached an agreement that it would jointly produce and sell cars in India. While Maruti would get the Corolla to rebody and rebadge, Toyota in turbo would use the sub-compact Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and the Baleno for its own rebodied and rebaged versions. In the future, Toyota and Maruti Suzuki would also co-develop new cars for India. And now according to reports in the Deccan Herald, Suzuki is set to invest $1 Billion into the Toyota manufacturing plant in Bidadi just outside Bengaluru.
