car&bike Expert Take

“The Bajaj Pulsar N125 comes across as a well-rounded addition to the 125 cc segment. It is a light, easy-to-ride commuter with a smooth engine and confident handling. It suits riders looking for a sporty yet practical daily bike. However, the lack of ABS and slightly firm ride may not appeal to those prioritising comfort and safety features.”

Bajaj Pulsar N125 Overview

The Bajaj Pulsar N125 enters a highly competitive 125 cc segment that has steadily grown in appeal, especially with the shift towards sportier commuter motorcycles. Positioned as an all-new model built from the ground up, it sits alongside the Pulsar 125 and NS125, but takes a more modern and performance-oriented approach in terms of design and dynamics.

Bajaj has clearly aimed this motorcycle at rivals like the TVS Raider 125 and Hero Xtreme 125R, both of which have set strong benchmarks in this category. With its sharp styling, lightweight construction and practical feature set, the N125 provides both everyday usability and a sporty riding experience.

After riding the Pulsar N125 across city roads, highways and tight corners, we found that it focuses on being easy to ride, light on its feet and comfortable for daily use. Preetam Bora spent time evaluating the motorcycle in different conditions, and his observations from the review in our detailed YouTube video have been incorporated throughout this evaluation.

Engine & Transmission

SpecificationDetails
Engine124.58 cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder
Power11.8 bhp
Torque11 Nm
Transmissionfive-speed manual

City Riding Experience

In city traffic, we found that the Pulsar N125 feels light and easy to manage. The throttle response is smooth and the 124.58 cc engine remains tractable at low speeds. It can run at approximately 20 kmph in higher gears without hesitation, which makes daily commuting easy. The light clutch and smooth gear shifts make stop-and-go riding effortless.

Highway Riding Experience

On the highway, we found that the Pulsar N125 is more suited for steady cruising. It remains comfortable at around 80 to 85 kmph and feels stable at these speeds. As speeds approach 100 kmph, acceleration starts to taper off and the engine feels strained. During our evaluation, we found that it is not built for high-speed riding, but it manages occasional highway runs well.

Preetam noted,

“Even though it’s a commuter, it handles corners very well and feels stable when ridden enthusiastically.”

Proportions & Stance

The Pulsar N125 follows a sharp, street-sport design with a lightweight and compact stance. With a kerb weight of 125kg, the motorcycle feels light and easy to manage, while still maintaining a sporty road presence.

The overall silhouette is upright but slightly aggressive, making it suitable for both daily commuting and spirited riding. Compared to other 125 cc motorcycles, we found that the N125 leans more towards a sporty commuter rather than a pure performance machine.

ModelKerb WeightWheel SizeVisual Character
Bajaj Pulsar N125125 kg17-inch (front and rear)Sharp, sporty commuter
TVS Raider 125123 kg17-inch (front and rear)Sporty, youthful street design
Hero Xtreme 125R136 kg17-inch (front and rear)Muscular, aggressive styling

Build Quality & Materials

During inspection, we found that the overall build quality was decent but not flawless. The paint finish looked consistent, and most panels felt properly fitted, but there were some uneven panel gaps and slightly plasticky textures, especially around the fork shrouds. In everyday use, this doesn’t affect functionality, but it does take away slightly from the overall premium feel.

Bajaj Pulsar N125 Colours

Bajaj offers the Pulsar N125 in two variants, each with its own set of colour options. Here’s how the lineup is structured.

LED Disc Variant:

  • Ebony Black
  • Cocktail Wine Red
  • Caribbean Blue

LED Disc Bluetooth Variant:

  • Ebony Black – Purple Fury
  • Ebony Black – Cocktail Wine Red
  • Pewter Grey – Citrus Rush

We found that the colour options noticeably affect how the bike looks. Ebony Black – Cocktail Wine Red feels balanced, while Purple Fury stands out more. On the standard variant, Caribbean Blue looks clean and highlights the design well.

Lighting & Front Identity

The front section gets a sharp, angular design with a distinctive LED setup and slim elements that give it a sporty face. The styling is not typical commuter-like, and we found it to stand out more in person than in pictures. The overall front presence is enhanced by chunky shrouds around the fork, which add visual mass.

As Preetam noted,

“It may not impress much in pictures, but in person, it feels sporty and appealing.”

Side Profile & Rear Section

The side profile carries forward the sharp design language with floating body panels and defined creases. A functional aero-style panel in the centre helps channel air towards the engine, adding purpose to the design. The tank extensions and overall proportions feel familiar yet updated. Towards the rear, the LED twin-strake tail lamp gives it a clean and modern finish while maintaining Pulsar identity.

Notable exterior highlights we made note of are:

  • Floating body panels and sharp creases that give the bike a modern look.
  • A functional aero panel that aids engine cooling.
  • LED twin-strake tail lamp that adds a distinctive rear signature.

Practical Integration

We found that elements like the well-integrated panels and compact proportions help keep the bike light and manageable in daily use. While the fit and finish are mostly solid, we found a few inconsistencies in panel gaps and some plasticky textures around the front shrouds. It doesn’t affect usability, but it is noticeable on closer inspection.

Bajaj has positioned the Pulsar N125 to appeal to riders who want a sporty-looking commuter with everyday usability, while also offering a slightly more premium option with added connectivity features. Mechanically, both variants remain the same with a 124.58 cc air-cooled engine paired to a five-speed gearbox. The price difference mainly comes down to added features, graphics, and the overall equipment level.

VariantKey HighlightsEx-Showroom Price (Approx.)
LED DiscLCD console, USB charger, CBS, LED lightingRs. 92,883
LED Disc BluetoothBluetooth connectivity, wider rear tyre, enhanced graphicsRs. 99,571

The standard variant keeps things simple and functional, covering all the basics needed for daily riding. As we evaluated the Bluetooth variant, we found that the added connectivity features and slightly upgraded visual treatment give the bike a more premium feel without changing its core riding experience.

Pros

  • Lightweight and easy to handle in daily riding
  • Smooth and refined engine performance
  • Stable and confidence-inspiring handling
  • Comfortable suspension for rough roads
  • Strong value for money

Cons

  • The front brake lacks a sharp initial bite
  • No ABS reduces braking confidence
  • Fit and finish could be better
  • Misses out on some useful features

Verdict

The Bajaj Pulsar N125 positions itself as a sporty yet practical 125cc motorcycle, focusing on ease of use and everyday usability without losing its sharp visual appeal. It does not strive to be the most aggressive or feature-packed option, but instead delivers a mix of light handling, smooth performance, and practical features that suit daily riding.

In our evaluation, what stood out more than the numbers was how easy the bike felt to ride. It’s light, predictable, and comfortable enough for daily commutes, while still feeling stable when ridden a bit enthusiastically. We found it to be a sensible choice for riders who want something slightly sporty without compromising on day-to-day ease. That said, the braking could have offered more confidence, and the lack of ABS is something you do notice.

As Preetam Bora concludes,

“It strikes a good balance between sporty design, handling, and everyday usability.”
