The electric two-wheeler is equipped with the same 3.0 Kwh battery as the ecoDryft electric motorcycle that produces range figures to the tune of 100 to 150 km

The ecoDryft has a top speed of 75 kmph and an on-road range of up to 130 km per charge.

Pure EV is in the process of expanding to 2,00,000 sqft facility with an annual vehicle production capacity of 1,20,000 units.

The incident marked the fifth electric scooter-related fire concerning a Pure EV model

In recent weeks there have been several incidents of e-scooters catching fire or being involved in them sparking safety concerns among some buyers

Hyderabad-based Pure EV recalls units of the Etrance+ and Epluto 7G range from the same batch as the unit that was involved in the incident.

This is the fourth such instance of an electric scooter catching fire in four days, adding to the debate on safety standards of electric two-wheelers in the Indian market.

The Pure EV ETryst 350 is the brand's first electric motorcycle and also its flagship offering in India. The model will go on sale on Independence Day - August 15, 2021.

The new Pure EV ETrance+ electric scooter promises a range of 65 km on a single charge from its 1.25 kWh portable lithium-ion battery and a top speed of 25 kmph. The high-speed variant is also under development, claims the company.
