Tata Curvv Expert Review: car&bike Expert Take
When we first spent time with the Tata Curvv, it quickly became clear that this isn’t just another compact SUV trying to squeeze into an already crowded segment. What Tata has done here is introduce something that genuinely feels different. The Curvv blends the practicality of an SUV with the dramatic styling of a coupe, and that combination immediately grabs attention on the road. In a market dominated by conventional boxy designs, this car feels like a bold step in a new direction.
Over the course of our real-world driving experience, the Tata Curvv proved that its appeal goes beyond just looks. You notice the strong road presence the moment you pull up anywhere. People stop and look, often trying to figure out exactly what kind of SUV it is. That’s part of its charm — it doesn’t blend in. The cabin brings a premium vibe, the engines offer modern turbo performance, and overall it feels like a car designed for buyers who want something stylish without stepping into luxury-car territory.
As Bilal Firfiray puts it, “The speciality of the Curvv has to be this rare coupe SUV body style. It brings a very fresh flavour in the segment and it looks gorgeous.”

For this Tata Curvv Expert review, the car was evaluated by Bilal Firfiray, one of the most experienced voices on the car&bike editorial team. With over 12 years of automotive journalism experience, Bilal approaches every review with a strong focus on real-world usability rather than just specifications.

We didn’t just drive the Curvv around the block either. Within a week, the car clocked nearly 1,500 km with us, giving us enough time to understand its strengths and its quirks. Our test route included everyday Mumbai traffic, a long stretch on the Mumbai–Pune Expressway, and a highway run all the way to Nashik and back. These varied conditions helped us experience how the TataCurvv behaves in city driving, high-speed cruising, and long-distance journeys.
Pros
- Unique coupe SUV styling
- Strong road presence
- Feature-rich interior
- Premium design language
- Distinct segment identity
Cons
- Rear headroom compromise
- Cabin space slightly limited
- Tech glitches observed
- ADAS overly sensitive sometimes
Verdict
After spending serious time behind the wheel, it’s clear that the Curvv isn’t trying to be just another safe, predictable SUV. Instead, it focuses on standing out. The progressive coupe-like style, advanced technology and impressive road presence provide it with the personality that most compact SUVs lack. That’s really the core appeal of the Tata Curvv — it offers something visually and conceptually different in a segment where many vehicles start to look and feel similar.
Of course, there are a few compromises. The sloping roofline slightly affects rear headroom, and a few small interior quirks show up during longer drives. But overall, the Curvv delivers a refreshing mix of style, features and everyday usability.
As Bilal Firfiray sums it up, “The Curvv brings something different to a crowded compact SUV segment.”
