Introduction

• Volvo’s flagship all-electric SUV, the EX90 will be the brand’s third bespoke electric model.
• This three-row SUV was first unveiled globally in 2022 and built on parent firm Geely’s dedicated SPA2 architecture.
• The electric SUV is scheduled to arrive in India on 12 October 2026 as a Completely Built Unit (CBU).
• At the time of launch, this vehicle is expected to be offered in both six-seat and seven-seat layout options.
• Post launch, it will rival the Mercedes-Benz EQS and BMW iX.

How is the exterior of the Volvo EX90?

• The fascia is highlighted by a blanked-out, body-coloured grille featuring the Volvo badge.
• Further, it gets the distinctive 'Thor’s Hammer' T-shaped LED daytime running lights, complemented by vertical fog lamps.
• The side profile retains a clean and sophisticated silhouette with a crisp shoulder line.
• At the rear, this electric SUV gets C-shaped taillamps and secondary vertical units running up the rear pillar.

How is the Interior of the Volvo EX90?

• The dashboard is highlighted by a large 14.5-inch portrait touchscreen with Google built-in and 5G-enabled over-the-air (OTA) updates.
• This model provides a dedicated digital instrument cluster along with in-car computing and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS).
• The electric SUV will get a premium upholstery with all the latest convenience features.

Powertrain of the Volvo EX90

• Internationally the vehicle is available in both Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) and All-Wheel Drive (AWD) setups.
• The RWD version houses a 92 kWh battery paired with an electric motor generating 245 kW (329 bhp) and 470 Nm of torque and delivers up to 565 km of WLTP range.
• The AWD models feature a larger 106 kWh battery pack in two tunes: a ‘Standard variant’ producing which 335 kW (449 bhp) and 670 Nm and the ‘Performance variant’ generates 500 kW (670 bhp) and 870 Nm.
• The AWD mode offers a WLTP range of up to 620 km.
• The ultra-fast 350 kW DC charges the battery from 10 per cent to 80 per cent in just 22 minutes.
• While the standard 3-phase 16A AC wallbox completes a full charge in around 11 hours.
