The Ford Ecosport facelift has been launched in India. Introductory pricing on the 2017 Ford Ecosport Facelift has remained unchanged and is exactly the same as compared to the prices of the pre-facelift outgoing model that was originally launched in India in 2013. The new Ecosport comes with a range of updates that includes a new front end look with new headlamps, fog lamps, LED daytime running lights and a new grille. Other changes on the exterior include new 17-inch alloy wheels, new tail lamps and an updated rear bumper. The new Ecosport also features several important upgrades to the interior. This includes the new 8-inch touchscreen infotainment setup that comes with Ford's SYNC3, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Ecosport now also comes with a leather interior package on the top of the line model. Carmakers in India are still recovering from the hit which car sales took from several headwinds in 2018. Automakers have been witnessing sluggish demand for the last four months which is been due to factors like rising fuel prices, onetime payment of insurance premium and a rise in interest rates. India's largest carmaker- Maruti Suzuki has recorded a marginal volume growth of 1 per cent in December 2018 selling 119,804 units of passenger vehicles against 118,560 Units in the same month last year. The growth was largely sustained by the Utility Vehicle (UV) segment as the Vitara Brezza continued to perform well. New models- the recently launched 2018 Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and 2018 Ciaz too remained in Demand. However, the mini and compact car segment which together constitutes a huge chunk of volumes witnessed muted sales which in-turn had a significant impact on volumes.

This is the first time that the 2017 Ford EcoSport facelift has been spotted sans camouflage with all the necessary badging. The car is likely to go on sale in India during this festive season, which starts by the end of this month.
