What's New?

The mature offering from the house of Maranello, Italy, the all-new Ferrari GTC4Lusso has been launched in India priced at Rs 5.20 crore (ex-showroom) for the V12. The Ferrari GTC4Lusso T, with the V8 engine, has also gone on sale in the country priced at Rs 4.20 crore ( ex-showroom, India). The Italian automaker's new offering replaces the FF in its stable and is also the much nicer looking car than its predecessor. The Ferrari GTC4 Lusso sports a more proportional shooting brake design language, flared wheel arches and an aggressive front end. The rear has been well crafted with its hatchback design while the massive diffuser just adds to the aggression. The trademark quad exhaust setup of the Ferrari V12 that dates back decades is also present on the GTC4 Lusso.

Power on the Ferrari GTC4Lusso comes from the F140 65-degree V12 engine that makes a 681 bhp and 697 Nm of peak torque. The motor is paired to a 7-speed dual clutch transmission. The GTC4 Lusso can hit 0-100 kmph in just 3.4 seconds and has a top speed of 345 kmph. The main gearbox is a 7-speed dual clutch unit. The all-wheel-drive system on the V12 gets a second two-speed gearbox that powers the front wheels up to a certain speed. On the other hand, the cheaper Ferrari GTC4LussoT is powered by a 3.9-litre engine V8 engine that makes 610bhp of power and 760Nm or torque. This one also comes mated to a 7-speed dual clutch gearbox.

Verdict

This car has a 'bumpy road mode'! Now isn't that rather apt for our market? Working in conjunction with the 4RM-S (Ferrari's patented four-wheel drive, four-wheel steering system), the SSC4 (side slip control system in its 4th generation) slackens off the dampers. This in turn controls the SCM-e magnaride damper controls and gives you a supple and smooth ride even on - you guessed it - bumpy roads!

Few automakers carry as much prestige as Ferrari, a name synonymous with speed, style, and unmatched engineering prowess. While the world often expects radicalism from the Italian marquee, their newest offering is more of a calculated evolution. Meet the Ferrari GTC4Lusso—a car not designed merely to replace its predecessor, the FF, but to redefine it. Contrary to what the Prancing Horse usually screams—speed and track dominance—the GTC4Lusso whispers something entirely different. It marks Ferrari’s determined entry into the world of grand touring, a realm where comfort is just as vital as speed. It promises a symphony of advanced engineering, not just for the driver but for every occupant. In essence, this is Ferrari’s take on a ‘family car.’

The first glance at the GTC4Lusso doesn’t scream ‘new,’ but a careful look reveals meticulous details. You’ll notice Ferrari’s uncanny ability to make sharpness and fluidity coexist. While maintaining the shooting brake silhouette—akin to the FF—the GTC4Lusso has sculpted aerodynamic lines and muscular rear fenders that make it appear both wider and more aggressive. The slimmer LED headlights and large three-part air intakes add a dash of modernity to the ensemble. It is as if the car can’t decide whether it’s headed to a race track or an opera, and in this indecision, it creates a spectacle. The choice of materials is exquisite, blending carbon fiber and aluminum to strike an ideal balance between sturdiness and weight.

And let’s not overlook the detail that underlines the essence of this car—the ‘4’ in GTC4Lusso. It’s not just a figure; it’s a statement. It’s still a coupe, and that’s precisely where its brilliance lies—it offers so much yet sacrifices so little.

Ferrari didn’t just stop at exterior evolution; the interior of the GTC4Lusso is a blend of hand-stitched Italian leather, cutting-edge technology, and a thoughtful design that shifts the paradigm of luxury in performance cars. The introduction of the dual cockpit is not just revolutionary but also highly functional. The front passenger is not just a spectator but a participant in the driving experience. A separate LCD touchscreen allows the co-passenger to interact with the car’s navigation and entertainment systems.

The 10.25-inch central touchscreen isn’t merely a nod to modernity but a full embrace of it, offering a range of controls and even compatibility with Apple CarPlay. Storage spaces have been thoughtfully positioned, and yes, there are cup holders—a nod to practicality you wouldn’t expect in a vehicle that can go 0-60 in just 3.4 seconds. Ferrari has mastered the art of offering a symphonic driving experience, but with the GTC4Lusso, it broadens its repertoire to include a ballet of comfort and utility. With its exceptional ride quality and surprisingly spacious 800-litre boot capacity when the rear seats are folded, this isn’t just a car; it’s a new philosophy for Ferrari. A philosophy that says you don’t have to choose between heart-pounding speed and heartwarming comfort. With the GTC4Lusso, you can have it all.

The GTC4Lusso is not just fast. With features like Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning, and Forward Collision Warning, it’s also incredibly smart when it comes to keeping you safe. Crafted with ultra-strong materials such as carbon-fiber and reinforced steel, it promises to hold its own, even when you’re pushing the speedometer. Rest assured, this Ferrari takes safety as seriously as it takes curves on the track.

In an era where many automakers are moving towards smaller engines with turbochargers, the GTC4Lusso stubbornly—and gloriously—sticks with a naturally aspirated V12. Imagine stepping on the gas and feeling the rush as the 6.3-liter engine comes alive, delivering a stunning 680 bhp and 700 Nm of torque. With a seamless seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, every moment of acceleration feels like silk under your fingertips. One second you’re standing still, and the next, you’re blasting past 60 mph in just 3.4 seconds. And don’t even think about tapping the brakes, because this beauty won’t stop until you’re flying at 335 kmph.

Handling in the GTC4Lusso is what you’d expect from a Ferrari: precise, responsive, and supremely confident. The suspension adapts to the road conditions in real-time and that provides a ride that is smooth and engaging. Whether you are cruising along coastal roads or navigating through twisty mountain passes, the GTC4Lusso remains unflinchingly composed. The car seamlessly transitions from a grand tourer to a sports car, often leaving you wondering if it is, in fact, two cars expertly crafted into one.

The GTC4Lusso is not just a car. It’s a premium experience. With a starting price above Rs. 4.5 crore, this is a car for the select few who want it all and are willing to pay for it. But for those who can afford it, the GTC4Lusso offers an unparalleled blend of performance, luxury, and practicality that few other cars can match.

The potential rivals could include the Lamborghini Urus or the Bentley Continental GT. However, neither brings the unique combination of luxury and performance that the GTC4Lusso promises. The Ferrari GTC4Lusso isn’t just another luxury sports car; it’s a statement, an experience, and most definitely, a game-changer. From its design aesthetics to its meticulous attention to performance, it stands out as a symbol of Italian craftsmanship and engineering. And for those willing to invest in this masterpiece, it promises a driving experience that’s nothing short of extraordinary.
