The sub-four meter sedan has received ABS and EBD safety equipment on the Trend variant, which was earlier available only on the top-of-the-line Titanium and Titanium+ trims. Unveiled as the Figo Concept at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo, the production-ready version of the sub-compact sedan was called the Figo Aspire and launched in August, 2015. Based on 'One Ford Strategy', the Figo Aspire shares its design with several other new-gen Ford cars including the Fiesta and EcoSport. Priced in the range of Rs. 4.89 lakh - Rs. 8.24 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the vehicle takes on the likes of Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire, Tata Zest, Hyundai Xcent and Honda Amaze.

After making its public debut as the Figo Concept at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo, the Figo Aspire has been finally launched in the country in the price range of Rs. 4.89 lakh - Rs. 8.24 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Based on 'One Ford strategy', the Figo Aspire shares its design elements with several new-age Ford cars including the EcoSport and Fiesta. Despite being a sub-4 metre sedan, the Figo Aspire manages to look like a proper sedan and not just a booted hatchback.

Unlike many of its competitors including the Maruti Swift Dzire, Hyundai Xcent and Honda Amaze, all of which are based on hatchbacks, the Figo Aspire has been designed from scratch. In fact, the new-generation Figo hatchback was designed after the Figo Aspire. Despite having an attractive pricing, the Ford Figo Aspire offers several exciting features including driver and front-passenger airbags standard across all variants. No other car in its segment offers dual airbags as standard feature. Interestingly, the top-of-the-line variant comes with 6 airbags which is again a first-in-class feature.

The Ford Figo Aspire is offered with three engine options - a 1.2-litre Ti-VCT petrol, a 1.5-litre TDCi diesel and a 1.5-litre Ti-VCT petrol engines. Smallest of the three, the 1.2-litre Ti-VCT petrol engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and churns out a maximum power output of 87bhp and a peak torque of 112Nm. The bigger petrol engine - 1.5-litre Ti-VCT - comes mated to the segment-first 6-speed dual-clutch automatic, and churns out 110bhp and 136Nm. The 1.5-litre TDCi diesel engine, on the other hand, churns out 99bhp and 215Nm.

The Figo Aspire comes in 4 trims - Ambiente, Trend, Titanium and Titanium +, and is available in seven colour options - Ruby Red, Sparkling Gold, Oxford White, Tuxedo Black, Deep Impact Blue, Ingot Silver and Smoke Grey.
