Ford has pulled the wraps off the 2018 Figo sedan for the South African markets, ahead of its launch soon. The 2018 Ford Figo sedan is the longer version of the Aspire subcompact sedan sold in India, and the updated model will be making its way to the Indian market later this year. It has to be noted that the Figo sedan and the sub 4-metre Aspire are both manufactured at the automaker's Sanand facility in Gujarat, with the Figo sedan exported to markets overseas.

The international car safety watchdog has been conducting crash testing of many Indian made car models since 2014, in a bid to get the safety standards in India to go up. The Ford Figo Aspire subcompact sedan has also been tested and has done well with a 3 Star rating. These are the first set of tests for 2017 and both cars were tested in their base variants - as is customary.
