Ford Figo Aspire Beats Honda Amaze in August, 2015
Launched in August, 2015, Ford India's first sub-compact sedan - the Figo Aspire - has received an overwhelming response in its very first month. The company retailed a total of 5,176 units of the Figo Aspire in August, thus making it the second best-selling sub-4 metre sedan in the month. Its competitors - Honda Amaze, Hyundai Xcent and Tata Zest managed to sell 3,250, 3202 and 2006 units respectively in the same month. Though the Maruti Swift Dzire, still, continues to lead the sub-compact sedan space, as its numbers stood at 18,718 units in August, 2015.

The reason behind the initial success of the Ford Figo Aspire could be due to the great value-for-money proposition it offers to its buyers. Available in the price range of Rs. 4.89 lakh - Rs. 8.24 lakh, the Figo Aspire comes with several first-in-class features such as six airbags, 6-speed dual clutch automatic transmission and leather seats, etc. Interestingly, the Aspire is also the first car in its league to offer driver and co-passenger airbags standard across all trim levels.

The Figo Aspire is available in three engine options - a 1.2-litre Ti-VCT petrol (87hp), a 1.5-litre Ti-VCT petrol (110bhp) and a 1.5-litre TDCi diesel (99bhp). While the 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel models come equipped with a 5-speed manual gearbox, the 1.5-litre petrol-egnined variant comes with a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
