• Front Profile: Up front, the Nios features a massive new black radiator grille sitting between redesigned boomerang-shaped LED DRLs. We noticed the DRLs are now integrated into the bumper, giving it a much wider and modern look at night.
• Side Profile: The profile remains sleek with the blacked-out C-pillar, which creates a floating roof effect. The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios top model features sharp 15-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels that fill the arches well. Large doors make getting in and out very easy for all age groups.
• Rear Profile: The rear is the highlight of the facelift, featuring new LED tail lamps connected by a red strip that makes the car look significantly more premium. The 'NIOS' lettering on the boot lid is clean and upscale.

The interior is where the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios truly justifies its premium billing. During our time with the car, it was obvious that the designers focused on material quality and ergonomics.

• Cabin Layout: The dashboard layout is horizontal and features a high-quality grey-themed finish. The dual-tone scheme brightens the interior, and the fit and finish are consistent across all touchpoints.
• Seating Comfort: Up front, the seats offer excellent lateral support for long drives. In the rear row, the wheelbase translates into respectable legroom for a car of this size, and the dedicated rear AC vents are a blessing in the Indian summer.

Features That Improve Daily Use:

• The inclusion of a Type-C charging point for fast charging modern devices.
• Eight-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone connectivity.
• A mix of analogue and digital displays in the instrument cluster provides all essential driving data.
• Wireless phone charging pad conveniently located in the centre console.

While the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios base model covers the basics, the higher trims introduce a level of luxury, such as a leather-wrapped steering wheel and cruise control, that makes the cabin feel special. 

Hyundai has really hit the nail on the head with how they’ve positioned the Nios. It feels like a natural 'graduation' for families ready to move on from their first basic hatchback. Whether you’re watching every rupee or you’ve decided it’s finally time to treat yourself to all the bells and whistles, the pricing is spread out so logically that you never feel like you’re overpaying for the equipment you get.

Showroom Prices (New Delhi): 

During our evaluation, it became clear that the brand has made a conscious choice to offer a strong entry price, while the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios top model remains competitive by offering features usually found in sedans.

Efficiency is always a top priority for Indian buyers, and the Kappa petrol engine in the Nios is designed for a 

balance of city drivability and fuel economy.

Observed Fuel Efficiency During Testing

During our tests on highways, the petrol manual version was able to deliver impressive fuel economy when driven at steady speeds. This strengthens its status as a sensible long-distance option for small families.

Safety is an area where the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios has set a benchmark for hatchbacks in India. Unlike many rivals, Hyundai has moved toward offering advanced safety tech as standard equipment.

Passive Safety and Crash Protection:

The vehicle now comes with four airbags as standard and six airbags in the top trims. This has instantly elevated the Nios to a safer segment in India.

Standard equipment now includes Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Hill Start Assist Control (HAC), and Vehicle Stability Management (VSM). During our highway driving, the stability interventions worked smoothly, ensuring the car felt secure during sudden manoeuvres.

Technology in the Nios is about functionality that makes a difference.

• Infotainment: The eight-inch touchscreen is incredibly responsive. During our testing, smartphone connectivity with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay was consistent with no dropouts.
• Cabin Practicality: Adding​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌ TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System) is a great benefit, and the reverse parking camera with guidelines makes parking in tight spots very ​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌easy. Other practical touches include the cooled glovebox and footwell lighting.

Boot space is a primary reason why many buyers prefer the Nios over smaller entry-level cars.

• Standard Capacity: 260-litre.
  In real-world use, this means practical accommodation for two medium-sized suitcases for airport runs. The wide aperture makes it easy to load bulky grocery bags. Note that in the CNG variant, the tank significantly reduces the usable cargo room.

In our test drive, we found that the Nios clearly trumps its rivals in terms of low-speed ride comfort.

• City Driving: In urban conditions, the suspension feels soft and absorbs imperfections well without thudding into the cabin. The steering is light, making it the perfect car for tight traffic.
• Highway Driving: On the highway, the Nios is a smooth operator, settling into a calm cruise once you hit 80-100 kmph. It feels secure and predictable for daily driving. But if you push it hard through the twisties, you’ll notice some body roll. It’s clearly been engineered to soak up bumps and keep passengers happy, which is exactly what most of us actually need in the real world

Hyundai has kept the Nios lineup highly intuitive. Rather than confusing buyers with endless cosmetic packages, the variants are cleanly separated by what urban commuters actually require. In our experience, this allows buyers to quickly identify the exact trim that matches their daily driving routine and budget.

Trim Levels

The Nios is available in distinct trim levels, each serving a specific role for the urban buyer.

• Era and Magna: Serving as the foundation of the range, these trims are ideal for budget-conscious buyers. During our evaluations, we found they provide fundamental safety gear and necessary cabin comforts without forcing you to pay for tech you might not use.
• Sportz: We consider this the optimal middle ground. It bundles the most requested daily features and offers the AMT gearbox option. In our view, it is the most practical and well-rounded choice for someone tackling heavy city traffic every day.
• Asta: This top-tier trim is aimed at those wanting a premium, feature-heavy experience. It packs in the full six airbags and upgraded interior finishes, making it the clear choice for buyers who want sedan-like equipment in a smaller footprint.

Powertrain Options 

Buyers choose between a refined 1.2-litre petrol and a highly frugal CNG setup. In heavy city traffic, the petrol engine's snappy response and automatic gearbox option make driving incredibly easy. The CNG variant, meanwhile, caters strictly to high-mileage users who prioritise running costs over outright performance and boot capacity.

Base vs Top Model Positioning 

Hyundai ensures that even the entry-level Nios is not stripped of basic dignity. Crucially, core safety equipment like four standard airbags is present right from the base Era model. You do not have to stretch your budget to the absolute limit just to get a competent and safe car.
"The entry-level trims nail the basics brilliantly, meaning you never feel shortchanged if you decide to skip the fully loaded versions," observes Shams Raza Naqvi.
At the other end, the Asta trim justifies its premium by adding advanced tech, striking diamond-cut alloy wheels, and a level of interior polish that makes it a true standout in the compact hatchback segment.
