So far the company has had only one SUV in the country - the Tiguan and it has had its share of success here. In fact, in November 2019, the company sold 176 units of the SUV which marked a leap of 83% compared to the same period last year.

There's a I.D. Pilot mode too in which the vehicle can be driven autonomously without an active driver which basically hints at a level 4 autonomous vehicle.

The Volkswagen T-Cross is also the automaker's first-ever small SUV and will be competing against the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Nissan Kicks, Renault Captur among others in the segment.

The compact SUV will be a five-seater, but priced a lot cheaper than the Tiguan within the VW family. Engine options will include both petrol and diesel versions, while the option of a hybrid cannot be ruled out.

Volkswagen is readying up the T-Cross compact SUV to take on the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Renault Duster, Jeep Renegade and the likes. While the production spec launch is still sometime away, the production-ready Volkswagen T-Cross has been leaked online in a single image. The leaked image appears to be from a presentation and reveals the design details on the all-new offering. The T-Cross is scheduled for an official debut later this year.

Volkswagen will be showcasing a five-seater version of the Atlas SUV at the upcoming New York International Auto Show 2018, on March 28. The carmaker has recently released a new teaser image of the upcoming near-production concept SUV, designed for the US market.

The new compact SUV will be built alongside a whole range of new cars that will be introduced in the South American market by the year 2020. This SUV will be sold alongside the upcoming 7 seat version of the Volkswagen Tiguan, another compact SUV from Volkswagen (rebadged version of the Skoda Karoq) and even possibly the brand new T-ROC. These new cars will be developed and built independently in Argentina where Volkswagen has decided to invest $653 Million in its Pachecco plant.

The Volkswagen T-Roc will be unveiled on 23 August, 2017. The event will be live-streamed as well. It is a compact SUV based on the VW Golf and is made on the versatile MQB platform from Volkswagen.
