The recent years have seen Royal Enfield transform from an ailing motorcycle maker to a dominant force in the global middleweight motorcycle segment. The brand has not only created a new identity as a retro and classic motorcycle maker but also as a lifestyle brand that manages to garner enough business from its accessories and gear, as much as it does from its bike sales. Now, adding a new collectible to its range, Royal Enfield has introduced scale models for its Classic 500 bikes. The 1:12 scale models are listed on the company's website priced at Rs. 1,200 and are currently available for pre-order, with deliveries set to begin in the first week of May this year.

The Royal Enfield Classic 500 Pegasus Edition finally went on sale after much anticipation on July 25, 2018 and managed to create a new sales record in the process. The limited edition motorcycle restricted to just 250 units was sold out in less than three minutes or 178 seconds of the sale going live on the bike maker's website at 4.00 pm. The Royal Enfield Pegasus Edition is the manufacturer's new limited edition offering with only 1000 units to be produced globally.

Following the website crash that indefinitely delayed the sale, Royal Enfield has now announced the new sale date for the Classic 500 Pegasus Edition. The limited edition motorcycle will now go on sale on July 25, 2018 at 4 pm on the company's website. The Royal Enfield Classic 500 Pegasus Edition was first unveiled in May this year with production limited to 250 units for India and 1000 worldwide. The model was to be exclusively sold online on July 10, but "unanticipated technical difficulties" on the website stalled the sale at the time.

A month since the prices were first revealed, Royal Enfield will finally open bookings for Classic 500 Pegasus Edition motorcycle in India tomorrow on July 10, 2018. Priced at Rs. 2.40 lakh (on-road, Delhi), the limited edition motorcycle is exclusively available online for bookings with production limited to just 250 units for the country, while 1000 units will be sold globally. The Royal Enfield Classic 500 Pegasus Edition draws inspiration from the Flying Flea motorcycles that were used during the World War II by the British army.
