Royal Enfield Announces New Sale Date For Classic 500 Pegasus Edition

Following the website crash that indefinitely delayed the sale, Royal Enfield has now announced the new sale date for the Classic 500 Pegasus Edition. The limited edition motorcycle will now go on sale on July 25, 2018 at 4.00 pm on the company's website. The Royal Enfield Classic 500 Pegasus Edition was first unveiled in May this year with production limited to 250 units for India and 1000 worldwide. The model was to be exclusively sold online on July 10, but "unanticipated technical difficulties" on the website stalled the sale at the time. The Pegasus Edition pays homage to the Flying Flea motorcycle that served the British Army during World War II.

Based on the standard Royal Enfield Classic 500, the Pegasus Edition adds a host of new elements taking inspiration from the original RE/WD 125 bike and is produced in official association with the British Army's Parachute Regiment. The bike comes with a special service brown shade, blacked out chrome bits, military-style canvas panniers, Pegasus emblem with stencilled number on the fuel tank, and period correct Royal Enfield logo.

(The RE Classic 500 Pegasus Edition uses the same mechanical bits, but gets cosmetic changes)
There are no mechanical changes to the motorcycle and power continues to come from the same 499 cc single-cylinder, fuel-injected engine that produces 27.2 bhp and 41.3 Nm of peak torque, mated with a 5-speed gearbox. The bike uses telescopic forks up front and twin shocks at the rear, while braking power comes from disc brakes at either end.
