Yamaha FZ Flex Fuel Overview 

• Yamaha’s new version of the FZ runs on ethanol-blended fuels ranging from E20 to E85 to reduce environmental impact. 
• Yamaha’s BlueFlex technology claims to make your daily city commutes highly efficient. 
• This motorcycle gets a 12-litre fuel tank which makes it capable of longer journeys. 
• The bike has a kerb weight of 139 kg. 

Yamaha FZ Flex Fuel Performance 

• Powering this bike is a 149 cc air-cooled engine that makes 11.7 bhp when pushed to 7250 rpm. 
• The engine has a single overhead camshaft system alongside a two-valve setup. 
• Peak torque is 12.8 Nm at 6,000 rpm and is expected to give you decent pulling power. 
• Yamaha claims it uses an advanced fuel injection system to deliver smooth power. 
• Cranking the motor is simple due to the standard electric starter. 
• A five-speed transmission handles the gear shifts and uses wet, multi-disc clutch layout. 

Yamaha FZ Flex Fuel Design 

• The FZ boasts of a strong chassis which is designed to keep the motorcycle stable. 
• It measures 2,000 mm in length, 780 mm in width and the total height stands at 1,065 mm. 
• A seat height of 790 mm makes it accessible for all riders and hence is easy to ride. 
• It has a balanced seating posture for both the rider and the pillion.

• The front has a modern LED headlight that gives you a bright view of the road. 
• For the rear too, Yamaha has fitted an LED tail lamp unit.

• At the time of launching the FZ BlueFlex (flex fuel), the ex-showroom price is Rs. 1.24 lakh, Delhi. 
• Final on-road prices will vary depending on location and local dealership extras. 

Yamaha FZ Flex Fuel Mileage 

• Yamaha did not reveal the mileage, the drop in efficiency with E20 fuel makes us believe that E85 fuel will be less efficient than E20. 
• The biggest talking point is the engine's compatibility with up to 85 per cent ethanol blended fuel, or E85. 
• This updated fuel system reduces carbon monoxide nitrogen emissions during your rides. 

 Yamaha FZ Flex Fuel Ride and Handling 

• The front suspension duties are managed by a telescopic fork with a 41 mm inner tube diameter. 
• At the rear there is a mono suspension system to absorb road bumps uniformly. 
• It has a wheelbase of 1,330 mm which helps keep the motorcycle steady on straight roads. 
• Braking duties come from a front 282 mm disc and a rear 220 mm disc for extra confidence. 
• Safety is covered an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) that prevents the tyres from skidding. 
• The superior handling and grip is due to the 100/80 front and 140/60 rear, both R17 tyres.

• It has an instrument console with a fully digital speedometer to show you the ride data. 
• This instrumentation also incorporates a tachometer, fuel gauge and a clock for convenience. 

Yamaha FZ Flex Fuel Competitors 

• This motorcycle currently competes with other motorcycles like the Hero Splendor Plus Flex Fuel and Hero HF Deluxe Flex Fuel.  
• It is also an alternative to more powerful options like the Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 Flex Fuel and Honda CB300F Flex-Fuel.
