Introduction

• The latest BMW X1 represents the third generation of BMW’s entry-level luxury compact SUV.
• It was introduced globally in 2022 and continuing through 2026.
• This car is built on the front-wheel-drive-based UKL2/FAAR platform shared with the Mini Countryman.
• A highlight of the X1 is that it won the Best Subcompact Luxury SUV award in the 2025 Auto Trader Awards.

BMW X1 – Exterior

• The X1 features BMW’s large signature kidney grille flanked by adaptive LED headlights with integrated DRLs.
• Its fascia has sharp character lines complemented by sculpted bumpers and chrome or Shadowline exterior trims.
• It boasts 17-inch to 19-inch alloy wheels depending on the variant, with options for M Sport styling as well.
• At the rear, the X1 gets slim L-shaped LED taillights and a roof spoiler.
• Other exterior features include roof rails, an electrically operated tailgate, and a panoramic glass sunroof.

BMW X1 – Interior

• Inside, the X1 features premium Sensatec or leather upholstery options and a floating armrest design.
• On the tech side, it has a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.7-inch central infotainment touchscreen, being a curved twin-screen setup.
• This infotainment system runs BMW’s iDrive 9 and further supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
• Then, its comfort features are electrically adjustable front seats with memory function, dual-zone automatic climate control, and ambient lighting.
• The rear bench is spacious and offers ample legroom with its 40:20:40 split folding seats.
• Other interior features include a wireless charging pad, powered tailgate, and multiple USB-C ports.

BMW X1 – Powertrain

• BMW offers the India-spec X1 in two options being the sDrive18i and sDrive18d.
• The sDrive18i is equipped with a 1.5-litre, three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine.
• This mill churns a power output of 150bhp and 360Nm of torque.
• On the other hand, the sDrive18d is powered by a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine.
• This engine delivers a power output of 150bhp and 360Nm of torque.
• Both engines come mated to an seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
