Introduction 

• The BYD Sealion 7 is an electric mid-size SUV based on the brand’s e‑Platform 3.0 Evo.  

• It is designed to offer performance, safety, and modern features and conveniences.  

• A highlight of the Sealion 7 is that it achieved a maximum five-star Euro NCAP safety rating in 2025. 

• Buyers can choose between a rear-wheel drive and an all-wheel drive configuration as per variants.

BYD Sealion 7 – Exterior 

• The Sealion 7’s fascia features slim LED-headlamps and a seamless light bar that visually widens the front. 

• Its sides have a coupe‑inspired roofline, flush‑mounted door handles, and muscular wheel arches.  

• This mid-size SUV boasts optional 19- or 20-inch alloy wheels shod with tubeless tyres across variants.  

• At the rear, the SUV gets a fastback‑style tail, a duck‑tail spoiler, and a full‑width LED taillight strip.  

• Other features are a powered tailgate, rear lip spoiler, twin‑level roof‑line spoilers, and a frunk.  

BYD Sealion 7 – Interior 

• The Sealion 7’s dashboard comes with a dual-toned layout with high-quality materials and  

• Over 80 per cent of the interior has been covered in soft vegan leather. 

• It gets Nappa leather seats that are powered and ventilated for maximum comfort.  

• On the tech side, the SUV features a 5.6‑inch rotating central touchscreen, a 10.25‑inch digital driver display, and a head‑up display.  

• This infotainment screen supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay as well.  

• Other features include tri‑zone or dual‑zone climate control, wireless phone charging, and a panoramic glass sunroof. 

BYD Sealion 7 – Powertrain 

• The BYD Sealion 7 is powered by an 82.56kWh Blade Battery pack and a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor. 

• Firstly, the Premium variant uses a rear-mounted PMSM motor and produces 308bhp and 380Nm of torque.  

• Secondly, the Performance variant comes with a front-mounted PMSM motor and produces 523bhp and 690Nm of torque. 

• The Premium variant is claimed to deliver a 567km range, while the Performance variant is claimed at 542km. 

• DC fast charging support is rated at up to 230kW, with a 10 to 80 per cent charge time of about 24 minutes.
