Introduced as the all-electric version of Hyundai’s popular Creta, the Creta EV brings electric technology into a familiar and widely accepted package. Hyundai has retained the core design and appeal of the SUV, while adding subtle EV-specific elements like a closed grille and aerodynamic alloy wheels. It is offered with two battery packs: 42 kWh and 51.4 kWh. It delivers a claimed range of up to 510 km along with improved performance.
We have often seen Hyundai position the Creta as a practical urban SUV, and the electric version follows the same approach. It focuses on comfort, ease of driving, and everyday usability, while adding features like a floating centre console and V2L for added convenience. In our evaluation, the real-world range of over 370 km for the larger battery pack seems achievable, which makes it suitable for both city use and occasional highway drives.

Driving Experience: Real World
City Driving
In city conditions, we found the Creta EV easy to adapt to. The throttle is smooth, with enough instant torque for traffic. Regenerative braking takes some getting used to, but it reduces frequent braking in stop-and-go driving.
Highway Driving
On the highway, we found the Creta EV quick and stable. Acceleration is strong, achieving 0–100 kmph in under 8 seconds, and overtakes don’t need much effort. The added battery weight also helps with stability at higher speeds.

The Hyundai Creta EV keeps the familiar Creta shape, but adds a few EV-specific touches to set it apart. It doesn’t try to look drastically different, and that actually works in its favour for buyers who already like the Creta’s design.

The Hyundai Creta EV retains the familiar Creta design, with subtle EV-specific updates. The overall shape remains the same, making it instantly recognisable, while small changes add a more modern and functional touch. We found that this approach makes it easy for buyers shifting from an ICE SUV.

Front Profile
At the front, the biggest change is the closed-off grille with pixel-like detailing, which distinctly identifies it as an electric SUV. The grille blends into the bumper, giving the front a cleaner, more seamless look. It also gets active air flaps, which open when cooling is required and stay shut otherwise to improve efficiency.
Side Profile
From the side, the Creta EV continues with the same upright stance, roof rails, and strong character lines. The new aero-style 17-inch alloy wheels stand out, and we also noticed the battery pack slightly visible underneath, which could have been better integrated.
Rear Profile
At the rear, changes are minimal. The updated bumper with pixel detailing is the main highlight, while the overall layout remains familiar. The wide stance and simple design make it look consistent with the rest of the car, even if there are no major visual upgrades.
The cabin of the Hyundai Creta EV is similar to the standard Creta, but Hyundai has made a few key changes to make it feel more suited to an EV. The new colour theme, redesigned centre console, and added storage improve usability. Material quality remains consistent with the regular Creta, with soft-touch elements and a solid fit across most touchpoints.
Cabin Layout and Quality
The dashboard layout remains unchanged, but the cabin now gets a navy-grey-silver theme with subtle EV highlights. The new steering wheel looks premium, and the floating centre console adds a cleaner feel. We found the redesigned climate panel looks neat, but takes some getting used to while driving.

Seating Comfort
First Row
The front seats are comfortable and supportive, with good cushioning for long drives. We found that the powered adjustments and memory function help in finding a suitable driving position, although the seat still feels slightly high even at its lowest setting.
Second Row
Rear seat comfort is one of the stronger areas of the Creta EV. There is ample knee room, headroom, and overall space for passengers. Despite the raised floor, the seat base is shaped to maintain under-thigh support, which we found works well. The backrest recline function also adds to comfort on longer drives.
