Pros

- Offering both six- and seven-seater configurations instantly makes it a legitimate family mover.
- The 71.8kWh battery claims up to 530km, which translates into 400-500km of actual driving.
- The motor is tuned beautifully to build speed smoothly rather than snapping your wrists.
- It absorbs broken roads easily, body roll is contained, and the cabin is well isolated from outside noises.
Cons
- Almost every cabin function is buried inside the touchscreen menu, which is challenging while driving.
- The rotating screen isn’t bright enough to fight harsh Indian sunlight, making it difficult to read sometimes.
- The third row has a high floor line, so adults will sit with their knees-up uncomfortably; difficult for long- journeys.
- An analogue dial instrument cluster with a small digital centre display feels noticeably outdated.
- Although it has 170mm ground clearance, one needs to be careful over tall speed-breakers when fully loaded.
Verdict
The BYD eMAX 7 has a solid mechanical foundation and layers it with features, styling, and cabin premiumness that justifies its place as a private family car. It drives effortlessly, rides comfortably, and tackles the three-row family EV market head-on.
