Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella

Introduction

• Toyota exhibited the production version of the Urban Cruiser Ebella at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Expo.
• It's 2026, and the carmaker is all set to launch this new electric SUV on 19 January.
• This Ebella is based on the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara.
• Though these will be identical, the Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella will get brand specific design elements.

• The concept version gave us an idea of how different will the Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella be from the Maruti e Vitara.
• In fact, the production version shows that the overall design remains true to the concept form.
• Up front is a sharp nose section with U-shaped LED headlights.
• Then, there are squarish wheel arches housing the large wheels.
• These will either be 18-inch or 19-inch aero-optimised wheels.
• At the back, it gets LED taillamps with a central black insert.

• The cabin of the Urban Cruiser Ebella is identical to the e Vitara with not many distinguishing factors.
• Its dashboard gets a dual-screen layout that includes a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster.

• Then, the Urban Cruiser Ebella gets a powered driver’s seat, reclining rear seats, automatic climate control, wireless charger, and a sunroof.
• Besides the Ebella comes equipped with a JBL audio system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity.
• Moreover, the Ebella also gets a 360-degree camera and ADAS.

Powertrain of the Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella

• We expect the Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella to have powertrain options like the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara.
• As a result, Toyota's electric SUV will also be offered with two battery options - 49kWh and 61kWh.
• The former smaller battery is paired with a single electric motor powering the front axle.
• Here the power output is 142bhp and 189Nm of torque.
• On the other hand, the larger 61kWh battery comes in single-motor and dual-motor variants.
• The single has a power output of 172bhp and 189Nm of torque.
• Meanwhile, the dual-motor variant boasts 184bhp and 300Nm of torque.
