The BMW X5 remains one of the most thoroughly engineered luxury SUVs currently on the market. It manages to walk a very fine line between providing genuine family practicality and surprisingly sharp driving dynamics. The cabin is an incredibly comfortable place to spend time in, backed up by high-quality touchpoints and fantastic noise insulation.

While the heavy shift towards digital screens might alienate buyers who prefer physical dials, the tech works reliably once you get used to the menu layout. The engines offer superb grunt, whether you choose the frugal diesel or the rev-happy petrol. It doesn't quite have the outright interior space of a Mercedes-Benz GLE, nor the third-row practicality of an Audi Q7, but the X5 feels more engaging from the driver's seat. The BMW M4 Competition xDrive is built for drivers first. We evaluated it in both city and highway conditions, and what stands out is how easily it adapts. In calmer modes, it feels manageable, but push it harder, and it becomes sharp and aggressive.  The driving experience is its biggest strength. It feels precise, controlled, and very quick, with the AWD system adding confidence in corners. At the same time, it can very well double up as your daily driver and sports car, which adds to its appeal.

There are compromises. The low ground clearance and stiff suspension can be limiting on bad roads. But overall, the package feels complete and purposeful. If you want a performance coupe that is fast, engaging, and still usable every day, the M4 makes a strong case.
