Mahindra Xylo Preview

The athletic appearance and boastful dimensions translate into a spacious cabin that provides space for up to nine people, depending on the variant one picks. Under the hood, Xylo gets an option between 2.5 litre CRDe engine available in BS IV versions and the powerful 2.2 litre mHawk oil burner.

A well suited vehicle for large Indian families, Xylo MPV is available in seven and eight seat layout. There is also an option for a nine seat variant with additional side seats that make Xylo a perfect family vehicle with comfortable space in second and third rows. Mechanicals powering the MPV include a 2.5 litre CRDe powertrain available in and BSIV versions putting out 93.5bhp and 218Nm as opposed to the more powerful 2.2 litre mHawk engine that develops 118.3bhp of power and 280Nm torque. Xylo’s top-spec variant comes loaded with plethora of comfort and safety features missing in the entry level trims.

Mahindra Xylo Exterior

The muscular stance is attributed to the boxy contours and aggressively styled front profile sporting key elements including black finished grille, large headlamps and fog lamps with air-dam insert lend. Flared wheel arches, wheel arch cladding and body graphics add to the sporty flair.

Mahindra Xylo Interior

Available in seven, eight and nine seating layout, Xylo’s spacious cabin facilitates ample room for occupants seated in second and third row. The dual tone interior theme on the MPV and the premium upholstery look upmarket. For the comfort of occupants, it gets fully-reclining flat-bed seats with lumbar support and several storage points like ottl holder, cubby hole and glove box etc.

Mahindra Xylo Engine Specifications & Transmission

Xylo is available with two engine options- a 2.4 litre unit and a 2.2 litre powertrain. The higher capacity 2.4 litre engine produces 94bhp at 3600rpm and 218Nm torque between 1400 to 2600rpm as opposed to the 2.2 litre motor good for 119bhp and 280Nm.

Mahindra Xylo Features

Styling features on the outside include sporty roof rails, side body graphics, rear decal, chrome highlights, front fog lamps, footsteps with integrated front mud flaps, rear wash and wipe. Cabin comes equipped with flatbed seats, captain seats in second row, height adjuster for driver’s seat, arm rest in front and second row and driver seat storage tray.

Mahindra Xylo Accessories & Infotainment

As for infotainment features, the MPV gets only a 2 Din music system, voice command technology and steering mounted audio controls.

Mahindra Xylo Braking and Handling

Power to retard speed is derived from disc brakes at front axle and drum brakes at rear axle.

Mahindra Xylo Safety & Security

Primary safety provisions including dual airbags, ABS with EBD and intellipark reverse assist are standard on top spec variant. Other than these, Xylo gets engine immobiliser on all variants.

Mahindra Xylo Comfort & Convenience

Tech for the comfort of occupants includes steering mounted cruise controls, HVAC, individual AC vents in 7 & 8 seater, power steering, power windows with express up/down with anti-pinch, keyless entry, central locking and rear defogger.

Mahindra Xylo Wheels & Tyres

Tyres are available in two sizes-the 205/65R15 tyres are equipped on the entry level variants and the high end variants get 215/75R15 tyres. The top spec variant gets alloy wheels unlike the rest of the trims in the range sporting wheel covers.

Mahindra Xylo Competition

The nine seater MPV competes with Renault Lodgy, Honda Mobilio and Maruti Suzuki Ertiga in the MPV segment.

This is a most comfortable muv. I like it very much indian market me isse jyada comfortable & species muv nahi he. jisko family ka comfort chahiye vo resale value ki tension nahi leta.
