The cabin is designed entirely around flexibility. It uses the same dashboard layout as the pre-facelift Triber, keeping things highly functional and straightforward.

Cabin Layout and Quality

• The dashboard uses a clean, horizontal layout.
• Textured plastics and lighter upholstery tones are seen on the top-spec models.
• Nissan has included plenty of storage spots, including a cooled glovebox.
• You get over 30 litres of total in-cabin storage space for water bottles and snacks.

Seating Comfort

Front Row

• The front seats are fairly comfortable and have neck pillows and lumbar cushions.
• The driver’s seat offers height adjustment to help find the correct driving posture.

Second Row

• The second-row bench can easily slide, recline, and fold.
• This sliding function allows passengers to push the seat back for massive legroom or slide it forward to give the third row a bit more space.
• Middle-row passengers get dedicated, independent rear AC vents.

Third Row

• The third row is very tight and strictly best suited for children.
• However, these seats can be completely removed from the car in a 50:50 configuration to open up a massive boot area.
• The third row also receives its own AC vents.

However, Bilal observes,

"Where the Gravite doesn’t really impress is in the quality of materials. The plastic quality used here feels durable and built to last, but they don’t feel very plush."

Features That Improve Daily Use

Nissan has clearly wanted to undercut larger MPVs as much as possible with the price. The car is clearly meant for budget-conscious buyers.

To keep daily running costs low, the Gravite’s small 1.0-litre engine is very frugal on fuel. The manufacturer also offers a CNG option for buyers who travel long distances regularly. The petrol variant has a 40-litre fuel tank, while the CNG gets 50 litres. ARAI-certified mileage numbers for both hover around the 19-24 kmpl mark.

Observed Fuel Efficiency During Testing

Despite its low price, Nissan has not given up on passenger safety, as the Gravite offers a robust list of standard safety features across all variants. Do note that it doesn’t have a crash safety rating yet.

Passive Safety and Crash Protection

• There are six airbags as standard across every single variant.
• The body structure feels adequately rigid for city usage.
• The cabin includes seatbelt reminders for all occupants.
• The car also has ISOFIX seat mounts for keeping children safe.

Active Safety and Stability Systems

• Several active electronic aids help the driver.
• There’s an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD).
• Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and a Traction Control System (TCS) are also available.
• To help with steep inclines, Hill-Start Assist (HSA) prevents the car from rolling backwards.
• Rear parking sensors and a reversing camera are included on the higher trims.

The Gravite doesn’t overwhelm the driver with complex menus or unnecessary screens. It only has the needed modern technology.

Infotainment and Interface

• The driver gets a seven-inch semi/full digital instrument cluster (depending on the trim).
• Also, the dashboard has a neat eight-inch floating touchscreen infotainment.
• You get wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for connecting your phone.

Cabin Convenience and Practical Features

• There’s a wireless charging pad in the centre console.
• Smart features like Walk Away Lock and Approach Unlock add a premium touch.
• The Launch Edition adds a JBL audio system, ambient mood lighting, an air purifier, etc.

Because it is a sub-four-metre vehicle, boot space changes drastically depending on how many passengers are travelling.

• With all seven seats upright, the boot space shrinks to a minimal 84 litres.
• If you fold down one of the third-row seats (six-seater mode), you can unlock 320 litres.
• If you remove the third-row seats completely, you get 625 litres of cargo capacity overall.

The Gravit’s suspension setup is no doubt engineered while keeping Indian roads in mind.

City Driving

• The steering is remarkably light, so U-turns and parking manoeuvres can be done naturally.
• The suspension dilutes sharp speed bumps and deep potholes most of the time.
• The driver gets excellent visibility in all directions, thanks to the high seating position.

Bilal says,

"In the city, the engine feels light, very user-friendly and easy-going."

Highway Driving

• The car maintains a straight line confidently and feels stable at moderate cruising speeds.
• However, the lightweight body can feel slightly susceptible to strong crosswinds.
• Because the engine lacks a turbocharger, you have to work the gears a bit for overtakes.

Nissan has structured the variant lineup cleanly, starting from the base Visia to the high-end Tekna.

The Essentials That You Don’t Get

• A punchy turbocharged petrol or diesel engine option
• The AC is fully manual
• Soft-touch premium plastics on the dashboard

Deciding which Gravite to buy depends largely on your budget and how much convenience you need for daily driving.
