The Tata Altroz has achieved a five-star safety rating in the latest Bharat NCAP crash tests. This rating applies to all variants of the premium hatchback, including petrol, diesel, and CNG versions , sold from September 2025.
| Tata Altroz BNCAP Safety Rating | Total | Scored |
| Adult Occupant Protection | 32 | 29.65 |
| Child Occupant Protection | 49 | 44.90 |
In adult occupant protection, the Altroz scored 29.65 out of 32 points. It provided good to adequate protection to adult occupants in frontal offset and side pole impact tests. However, the hatchback lost points because it offered only marginal protection to the adult occupant's chest in the side barrier impact test.
The Altroz achieved 44.90 out of 49 points for child occupant protection. It got a dynamic score of 23.90/24 and full marks (12/12) for child restraint system installation in the hatchback. However, in the vehicle assessment, the hatchback scored 9 out of 13 points, losing some points there.
The standard safety features that form the essential part of the safety suite include six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC), and seatbelt reminders for all seats.
Moreover, the latest iteration of the premium hatchback boasts a 360-degree camera, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and even hill hold assist.
The Tata Altroz's five-star safety rating makes it the safest premium hatchback in its segment, outperforming rivals like the Maruti Baleno, which scored a four-star rating earlier in 2025.
Tata Motors has upped its game considerably across segments, and the premium hatchback segment is no exception. The Altroz has become a formidable rival to the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno and the Hyundai i20.
The Tata Altroz is a looker from all angles. It sports a truly unique design with its signature front fascia and grille, which smoothly integrates into the headlamps while extruding nicely alongside. The LED daytime running lights have also been fused into the fog lamps at the lower end of the bumper, while there are several body lines and creases all around the car as well. The car sports a kinetic and engaging design template, while coming with a dual-tone rear theme and a blacked-out tailgate in tandem with edgy taillights as well.
Pros
Cons
The Tata Altroz facelift brings in modern tech with a premium design, especially with its new bold grille and LED lighting. Features like a 10.25-inch touchscreen are latest to its segment, but the good thing is, it continues to boast a five-star safety rating (Bharat NCAP) across petrol, diesel, and CNG variants. So, with multiple powertrain options, adequate comfort, safety, and style; it shines in its segment.
