Aprilia RS 600 Latest Updates

The Aprilia RS660 is an upcoming middleweight motorcycle that was globally revealed at the 2019 EICMA Motorcycle Show. The bike features sharp styling borrowed from the larger RSV4 complete with a full-fairing that features aero winglets and also integrated the distinctive looking headlamps with cornering lights. The fuel tank design boasts of sharp lines and the upswept tail section allows for compact proportions on the motorcycle. Aprilia is positioning the RS560 as an all-rounder more than just a track tool and the bike comes with raised clip-on handlebars for a more relaxed riding stance.

Power on the Aprilia RS660 comes from 660 cc Euro 5 compliant parallel-twin engine which develops 100 bhp of power, although the rpm and peak torque figures have not been released. The engine has been derived from the front cylinders of the 1100 cc Aprilia RSV4 powerplant and it uses a 270-degree crankshaft design, and the bike is loaded with the latest range of electronics powered by a six-axis inertial measurement unit (IMU).

The Aprilia RS660 gets traction control, cornering ABS, five riding modes (3 for street, and 2 for track), up/down quickshifter, wheelie control and engine braking system. The RS 660 also gets standard cruise control, and weighs just 168 kg dry. A new twin-spar aluminium frame uses the engine as a stressed member and also features an aluminium swingarm which shares the same rear shock mounting as the RSV4. Front suspension is handled by a fully adjustable 41 mm Kayaba fork, while braking is handled by Brembo calipers all round with dual 320 mm discs on the front wheel.

The RS660 also comes with wheelie control, cornering ABS, cruise control, Bluetooth-enabled five-inch TFT screen with two display options, and smartphone connectivity. The Aprilia RS660 is yet to be announced for India and will lock horns against the Kawasaki Ninja 650 and the Honda CBR650R in the segment.
