INRC: Round 3 Rally Of Jodhpur Cancelled After Three People Killed In An Accident
In an unfortunate turn of events, the Maxperience Rally, Round 3 of the Yacht Club FMSCI Indian National Rally Championship (INRC) has been called off due to an accident on Saturday in Jodhpur. The accident saw a family of three including a child on a motorcycle crash into the speeding rally car of Mahindra Adventure's Gaurav Gill and co-driver Musa Sherif. The incident took place 150 metres from the finish line, where the motorcycle crossed paths with the rally car. Officials say that the deceased were not wearing helmets and had crossed on to the track, despite a warning being issued to them.

Gaurav Gill & Dean Mascarenhas Face-Off In 2019 INRC Round 3
The third round of the Yacht Club FMSCI Indian National Rally Championship (INRC) is all set to take place this weekend in Jodhpur, and defending champion Gaurav Gill will be aiming to retain his title. The ace rally driver comes back for the domestic championship after a brilliant yet heartbreaking run in the WRC2 Rally of Turkey that saw the driver get a DNF after securing five out of nine podiums after a mechanical issue. Returning to INRC, Gill faces stiff competition from Dean Mascarenhas as well as Younus Ilyas. The Mahindra Adventure driver looked unbeatable in Coimbatore, having posted the fastest timings in the first three stages before having problems. Gill along with his co-driver Musa Sherif are currently placed fifth in the overall championship standings with 22 points.

Ather 340 Electric Scooter Discontinued Due To Low Demand
Bangalore-based Ather Energy has discontinued its entry-level 340 electric scooter. The company took to its social media channels to announce the development and the scooter has also been delisted from the company's website as well. Explaining the decision, the manufacturer said that the Ather 340 had dismal demand over the flagship 450. The latter grabbed 99 per cent of the orders despite the high pricing. Post the GST reduction in August this year, the Ather 340 was priced at Rs. 1.02 lakh, while the Ather 450 retails at Rs. 1.13 lakh (all prices, on-road Bangalore).

Royal Enfield's annual motorcycle and music festival - Rider Mania - is back for 2019 and the bike maker has opened registrations for the same. The 2019 Royal Enfield Rider Mania is scheduled on November 22-24, 2019, and is expected to see over 8000 RE owners and enthusiasts culminating for a three-day extravaganza dedicated to the Chennai-based motorcycle brand. Keeping up with the times, this year, Royal Enfield will also discourage the use of single-use plastic at the event, generated through the purchase and use of water bottles. Tamil Nadu EV Policy Proposes 100% Road Tax Exemption On Electric Cars Until 2022
Encouraging the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) in the state, the government of Tamil Nadu has announced the Electric Vehicle Policy draft with a number of recommendations and changes for the EV sector. The big takeaway from the announcement will be the 100 per cent exemption on registration fees for EVs until the end of 2022. According to the policy draft, the state government plans to become a centre for the EV ecosystem, not just in demand but manufacturing as well. The draft proposes a number of incentives to industries and buyers in a bid as it plans to attract Rs. 50,000 crore of investment in EV manufacturing and creation of over 1.5 lakh new jobs. WRC2: Gaurav Gill Ends Rally Of Turkey With DNF After A Promising Start
India's ace rally driver Gaurav Gill had a disappointing end to the WRC2 Rally of Turkey after a transmission failure ended his run prematurely. The Arjuna Awardee showed impressive pace through the four-day stint with multiple podium finishes through the 16 of 17 Special Stages (SS) while driving the all-new JK Racing Ford Fiesta R5 Mk2. This was Gill's first WRC2 race of this season after making his debut last year, returning to the series as a registered this time, making him eligible for points for the championship title. The Rally of Turkey is considered one of the most challenging of all rallies and is a mix of gravel, concrete and stones with gravel being one of Gill's strong suits.

Aston Martin Announces Vantage Cup One-Make Championship For 2020
Expanding its international motorsport program, Aston Martin has created a new one-make series championship called the Aston Martin Vantage Cup. The series is set to make its debut in Europe first next year before expanding to Asia in 2021. The Aston Martin Vantage Cup will be run by R-Motorsport and will be based on a specially developed version of the Vantage V8. The race-spec Vantage Cup car will be priced around 223,000 Pounds (nearly Rs. 2 crore) before taxes. R-Motorsport plans to have a four cup racing series worldwide over the next four years.
