What's New?
Introdcution
- BMW unveiled the new F450 GS at the EICMA 2025.
- It all started with a teaser showing BMW Motorrad CEO Markus Flasch posing next to the bike inside a lift ahead of the show.
- The BMW F 450 GS arrives as a compact adventure bike, which we hope will be launched in India as well.
- Though a smaller version, it carries forward the essence of the GS - adventure biking with a confidence.
Features & Equipment
- Like the GS siblings, a steel tubular frame uses the engine as a stressed member.
- KYB has provided the suspension with a 43mm upside-down fork and a directly linked rear shock, both offering 180mm travel.
- The Sport and GS Trophy variants, both feature adjusters for rebound and compression at the fork, apart from a sport tune.
- The bike gets a 19-inch front wheel and a 17-inch rear with tubeless tyres sized 100/90-19 and 130/80-17 respectively.
- On the braking front, there's a 310mm front disc with a Brembo four-piston fixed calliper and a 240mm rear disc with a Bybre calliper.
- ABS Pro is standard, along with other features like Dynamic Traction Control, engine drag torque control, and Dynamic Brake Control.
- The standard riding modes include Rain, Road, and Enduro modes, while Enduro Pro unlocks Exclusive trim upwards.
- There's a 6.5-inch TFT display that handles phone, music, and basic navigation, while heated grips and full-LED lighting are standard.
- In fact, the GS Trophy trim debuts BMW’s Easy Ride Clutch, which is an advanced centrifugal clutch.
- While the Basic variant gets Cosmic Black with all the essentials, the Exclusive benefits from Riding Modes Pro, hand guards, engine guard, off-road pegs, and the quickshifter.
- On the other hand, the Sport comes in Racing Red and the GS Trophy sits at the top in Racing Blue Metallic.
- The latter comes with a sport suspension, aluminium engine guard, tinted rally screen, Shift Assistant Pro, and the Easy Ride Clutch as standard.
- Customers can opt for the Cross-spoked wheels and an Akrapovic end offered through BMW's accessories list.
Engine & Gearbox
- Power to the BMW F 450 GS comes from a new 420cc parallel-twin petrol engine,
- This mill produces 47.5bhp at 8,750rpm and 43Nm at 6,750rpm.
- It comes mated to a six-speed box with a chain final drive.
- BMW claims more than 350km between stops, which seems doable with a claimed kerb weight of 178kg and a fuel tank of 14litres.
