The Honda Activa 125 FI is the first offering from the two-wheeler maker to receive BS6 compliance an was launched in India in 2019. The Honda Activa 125 BS6 is priced at Rs. 70,629 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and is offered in three variants – Standard, Alloy and Deluxe. The scooter is based on a newly-developed frame while the design language has been revised for a fresh look. The Activa 125 FI is offered on seven colour options.
Cosmetic changes on the Honda Activa 125 include new chrome embellishments on the front apron and side panels, along with LED headlight and position lamp. There is a redesigned tail lamp on the scooter. The multi-function ignition key has been updated and now features remote seat hatch operation, as well as remote fuel-lid operation. The fuel tank lid has now been positioned externally. The instrument panel is all-new and gets a semi-digital console with a part analogue set-up. The new cluster gives out a number of readings including fuel consumption figures and distance to empty indicator. A side stand indicator has also been incorporated, which acts as an engine inhibitor, and will not allow the engine to start if the side stand has been left down.
Power on the Honda Activa 125 comes from the 124 cc single-cylinder motor that’s now fuel-injected#!_ develops 8.1 bhp of power and 10.3 Nm of peak torque. The engine continues to be paired with an automatic transmission. The lighter internal components in the engine are said to reduce friction resulting in significant refinement in performance, and the new model also gets Honda Eco Technology (HET) along with what is called "enhanced smart power", or ESP, which includes a noiseless alternate current generator (ACG) starter.
The Honda Activa 125 FI also gets a 12V socket that can be fitted at the dealer level. Furthermore z the suspension setup includes telescopic forks at the front, while the rear has been upgraded to a pre-load adjustable shock absorber. Braking performance comes from drum brakes at either end with a front disc brake on the top variant, while Combi-braking system (CBS) is a standard feature.
The Honda Activa 125 FI gets several colours including Rebel Red Metallic, Black, Heavy Grey Metallic, Midnight Blue Metallic, Pearl Precious White and Majestic Brown Metallic. HMSI will offer a three year standard warranty, which can be further extended to six years, if need be. The Activa 125 competes against a number of offerings including the Suzuki Access 125, Hero Destini 125, Yamaha Fascino 125, and the likes.
