What's New?
The Honda Rebel 500 has officially entered the Indian market as a stylish and versatile mid-weight cruiser, priced at ₹5.12 lakh (ex-showroom). Known for its low-slung stance and distinctive urban appeal, the Rebel 500 is targeted at riders who seek both performance and style in a premium, easy-to-ride package. Honda is offering this motorcycle through its exclusive BigWing dealerships located in Gurugram, Mumbai, and Bengaluru, with deliveries scheduled to begin from June 2025.
At the heart of the Rebel 500 is a 471cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine that is tuned for smooth and linear power delivery. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox, producing a peak output of around 47 bhp and 43.3 Nm of torque, offering a perfect blend of responsiveness and cruising comfort. The engine has been tuned to deliver torque in the low- and mid-range, making it ideal for city riding as well as long-distance touring.
The motorcycle stands out with its minimalist cruiser styling, characterized by a round LED headlamp, teardrop-shaped fuel tank, exposed frame, and a bobber-inspired rear section. The Rebel 500 is available in a single Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic color, enhancing its premium and stealthy appeal. Its low seat height of just 690 mm makes it extremely accessible, even for shorter riders, ensuring confident handling and comfort.
In terms of hardware, the Rebel 500 features a steel tubular frame suspended on 41 mm telescopic front forks and dual rear shock absorbers. The bike rides on 16-inch alloy wheels, fitted with a wide 130/90 front and 150/80 rear tire setup, enhancing grip and ride comfort. Braking duties are handled by a 296 mm front disc and 240 mm rear disc, both assisted by dual-channel ABS for added safety and control.
The instrument cluster is a compact LCD unit that displays essential data such as speed, gear position, and fuel level. While the Rebel 500 focuses on simplicity, its premium fit and finish, attention to rider ergonomics, and brand reliability make it a compelling option in the cruiser motorcycle segment.
